Too hard to pick just one, I'd have to say the three greatest/most revolutionary bands of the century would be Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and the Beatles.

Peter Frampton!

Seriously, he had such a unique style of playing on the guitar, his songs were really good, and the Frampton Comes Alive album is just so damn awesome! Also(I'm sure not very many people know about this) he did a cover of Jumpin' Jack Flash, which I thought was better than the original version. Actually, now that I think about, I don't think I've seen any one talk about the Rolling Stones on this forum. Anyways, though, Peter Frampton is awesome!

Well, he's just one of my favorites, he's just the one I've been listening to a lot of lately.

The Who is another great band. They were kind of a punk rock band, but in kind of a loose sense though, because the while they did do songs like My Generation and Baba O'Riley, they had songs where there was so much going on like The Song is Over and Won't Get Fooled Again. Oh, and Keith Moon was pretty much the best drummer ever!

The Cars were pretty awesome. They had the kind of interesting kinds of sounds with their music. They did some different things too. Also, the song Drive is so gorgeous!

The Beatles were so.....hold on, do I even need to say anything about these guys? Of course they're awesome. And if you don't think so, you must be fucking stupid! They had so many different sounds and they did so many different things with songs. They had songs like Taxman with an awesome guitar solo, or songs like She's Leaving Home with an orchestra to back them up. They had so many cool songs! Well, I just love the Beatles. They are so awesome!

The Doors, for in their early years revolutionizing psychedelic rock and in their later years revolutionizing blues/jazz rock and for being a great damn band as well.
More like The Bores. Teehee.

System of a down. I can't help myself I must say system of a down for any questions like this.
Considering that only their debut was in the 20th century, how are they the best of that century?
Like I said, I can't help it, I MUST say system of a down to anything realting to "Best band etc."

Journey.
ill give all the credit in the world to Freddy Mercury (lead vocals of queen) but im my opinion not one singer has been able to match the pure epicness of Steve Perrys voice (lead vocals of Journey).
I was reading this article on music and how most singers stay pretty low on the Octave scale. However, the exceptions Steve Perry and Maria Carry, actually broke like a 6 on that scale, which is extremely hard to do. I also heard that a 7 is almost impossible to hear by ear and is the same pitch a a dog whistle. (i don't remember the numbers exactly).
On that note, i do love the Beatles and NO ONE will ever be able to match their sheer ability to release a song and it be an instant hit.
My all time favorite band is Muse though. Matt Bellamy has an amazing voice and i'm very happy to see they're slowly becoming famous in America.

Metallica, maaaaate.
Funny, usually bands selling out isn't considered a good thing.

I would say... Black Sabbath, seeing as they, you know, basically pioneered an entire genre... With help from Led Zeppelin, although they helped the hard rock movement more than the metal movement.
