Hey all you other games, I'm really happy for you, and I'mma let you finish, but Half Life 2: Episode 2 had one of the BEST ENDINGS OF ALL TIME.

I gotta say, and I know this meh to the rest of you, Price of Persia: Two Thrones ending

How he loops it all back to "Sit down and I shall tell you a story"
I loved it!

I wholeheartedly agree, this is my absolute favorite of all time.

That said, the ending of the Legacy of Kain story arc comes in as a close second.

I was just happy they didn't go "And then the price and Farah got married and had children and became the best kind and queen ever and everything was happily ever after" That would have been such a cheesy ending

But I love how they did it! I replay that game from time to time, just to get see that ending again!

I loved POP 3's ending but I really wish there had been an alternate one where the Dark Prince had won. I loved that son of a *****. He so delightfully hateful

Final Fantasy 10, hands down, no competition. Its so sad,amazing, beautiful...gets me every time..

That shouldn't count, since they came out with a crappy sequel.

I like to pretend the crappy sequel doesn't exist. FFX was the first game I ever actually liked enough to finish, and I loved it. The music was beautiful.

Twilight Princess- I liked the ending, it was kind of unexpected
The World Ends With You- Because it is awesome. I can't think of one complaint with the ending.

Its a rather bittersweet one because even though its a fantasy setting, like with real war you might win but at the cost of countless lives.

I really like the ending to Modern Warfare, and I'm not even a CoD fanboy. It's the only CoD game I've played, but just when he throw that pistol to you, etc. (don't wanna spoil anything) I just loved it. I also loved the ending to Okami.

COD 4 has one of the best FPS endings, I'll agree. I know a lot of people hated the downer nature of it, but to me that just endeared it to me, to have a tragic (semi)victory.

Kind of like the end of the Seven Samurai or the Dambusters. They fought the good fight, they achieved their goal, but quite a few of them didn't make it back alive.

Seriously though, I'd have to offer a few suggestions.

MGS3 and 4. 3 made me weep and 4, well 4 was the goodbye so it did the same.

The Darkness -

you have no choice but to give into evil and have your soul consumed by The Darkness, one of the things you've been fighting against the entire game. Then you get all of a minute with the love of your life, that the bastard you sacrificed your soul to murder killed. Your soul for one minute of true love. Jackie's a real man. Sheer awesome.

Max Payne 2 - *sob* (or, if finished on Dead on Arrival difficulty, *grin*)

I think the best game of all time would be an Open World Action-RPG-FPS-Cooking Tutorial-Typing Aide with a forced stealth section.

You are a lone wolf sandwich, forced out of society because you were just "half grain bread." But now your home lays in ruin, and you are out FOR VENGEANCE!

You must venture to vast worlds like a deli and farmers market to collect power-ups (toppings) before fighting the evil empire that destroyed all that was once dear to you (any fast food corporation... evil.)

Pretty much the best game ever.
