My favorites
David Hayter- Solid Snake
Steve Downes- Master Chief
John Dimagio- Marcus Fenix and The announcer in madworld
Nolan North- Nathan Drake
Michael Hollick- Niko Bellic
Jack Black- Eddie Riggs
The whole cast of TF2
Also, pretty much all the voices in "the darkness" where amazing. Definitely the high point of that game.

Also, I don't know why people are getting all giddy that Martin Sheen was the illusive man. Really ANYONE with a similar voice could've played that roll, because the illusive man was calm and spoke matter of factly throughout the whole game. He never once conveyed any emotion other than "professional" and "slightly dissatisfied professional." Not to say Martin Sheen is a bad voice actor, but if a role doesn't exercise the talent it's not really that big of a deal. It's not like Mark Hamil's Joker where no other voice actor could've played the role.

Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 had some superb voice acting. But my award goes to the House of the Dead 2. Simply stunning.

Harry Flynn as Alistair in Dragon Age: Origins. He took what could have been an annoying goody-goody character and turned him into the most interesting, funniest character in the game by far.

Also, the guy who did Colonel Radec in Killzone 2.

I've always thought that whoever voice acted Eli and Alyx's characters in half-life 2 did a capital job, and the fact their characters are done so well only attributes to the fact that they're brilliant.

I think Mass Effect 1&2, Dragon-Age: Origins, System Shock 2 and perhaps Bioshock have the most memorable high-quality voice acting out of the video games I've played.

Michael Beattie as Mordin Solus does such an awesome job with infusing such an odd character with such great emotional depth, especially in his loyalty mission, which is each supporting V/O actor's chance to really flesh out their characters.

Nolan North needs to be applauded for at least becoming the go-to guy for generic male protagonists. Guy's got quite the resume, despite the fact that his voice makes me sick.
Here's a list of good performances I've heard.

Three Dog and Liam Neeson in Fallout 3
Black male voice for the Boss in Saint's Row 2
Bruce Campbell in Spider-Man 2
Female Shepard
Carth Onasi/Kaiden Alenko guy
Ellen McLain
Mike Shapiro
and Mike Patton as the L4D zombies.

Also, Ross Scott as who Valve should hire when they eventually give Freeman a voice.

I've got quite a list of phenomenal voice actors in games:

1) Mark Hamill - The Joker (Batman Arkham Asylum)

2) Michael Bell - Raziel (Soul Reaver)

3) Simon Templeman - Kain (Legacy of Kain)

4) Martin Sheen - Illusive Man (Mass Effect 2)

5) Mark Meer - Male Cmdr. Shepard (Mass Effect)

6) Jennifer Hale - Female Cmdr. Shepard (Mass Effect)

7) Adam Baldwin - Kal'Reegar (Mass Effect 2)

8) Michael Beattie - Mordin Solus (Mass Effect 2)

9) Seth Green - Joker (Mass Effect)

10) Brandon Keener - Garrus (Mass Effect)

11) Adam Lazarre-White - Jacob Taylor (Mass Effect 2)

12) Liz Sroka - Tali'Zorah (Mass Effect)

13) Nolan North - Nathan Drake (Uncharted 2)

14) Claudia Black - Chloe Frazer (Uncharted 2)

15) Emily Rose - Elena Fisher (Uncharted 2)

16) Graham McTavish - Lazarevic (Uncharted 2)

17) Robert Guillaume - Eli Vance (Half-Life 2)

18) Merle Dandridge - Alyx Vance (Half-Life 2)

19) John DiMaggio - Wakka (Final Fantasy X)

20) Michael Ironside - Sam Fisher (Splinter Cell)

I could probably think of more but that's all I have right now.
I can wholeheartedly agree with that list, though I would include BioShock, TF2 and L4D1/2 as well.

Also, lots of praise for the ME/ME2 voicework here, and I share that praise, but one thing stood out for me, and that was hearing Michael Hogan voice a C-Sec captain. I squeed with Battlestar Galactica-fanboy delight when I heard that.

And they need to include some nod to Freeman's Mind if/when this comes to pass.

Preferably 'I am a physics crunching badass', or 'I ROCK. NOW STOP MAKING ME PROVE IT.'
Damn it, now I need to watch it again. (The next episode should be coming in a few days at least :D)

I'm usually not one to repost the same thing, but every time I see this topic, it follows with the same answers (though now that Mass Effect 2 is out, there's a few more) so I'll throw in mine. Everyone in Grim Fandango (especially Manny and Glottis), and everyone in Monkey Island 3. I also loved the intentionally bad mocking-itself voice acting of the Disgaea series. On the more popular side, I definitely loved all the TF2 voices, and really pretty much everything in the Orange Box, and Professor Layton had a very pleasant, if a bit too laid back, feel to it.

David Hayter.

I could list the ones I like but that's not the point of the thread, now is it.

Guy that did Wesker in the latest Resident Evils.

Mass Effect I've liked since the start but the voice acting is just poor. Mark Hamill as Joker was great as I remember reading about it beforehand and then when I finally got round to playing it I was like "No... way."

my vote goes to Seth Green as Joker in Mass Effect, or David Hayter as Naked/Solid/Old Snake (both ninja'd proves that they're both awesome)

"You've got a FRAKKING CYLON ABORD YOUR SHIP!" Ah Battlestar...
I would've killed for a Battlestar easter egg, if only referening to mechs as "toasters".
