I chose Blue btw.
Welcome to the club mate...
You're probably enraged right now as most people so let me hammer something in your mind to help you swallow it and move on as quickly as possible.
It's just a game.

I went synthesis as the canon ending for my paragon Shep. I'm currently doing a playthrough of the entire series and I'm now at the third game. I'm going renegade this time though, so I think it'll be control for this Shep, as she saved the Collector Base in the second and the attitude of controlling the Reapers, instead of destroying them hasn't changed, despite Cerberus being a bit out there.

EDIT:

It's weird, people keep claiming that there are only three endings, but there's actually quite a bunch. Sure all of the cutscenes look the same but considering you're technically only supposed to see one that then becomes the canon ending for your particular Shepard, then it ceases to become a major problem, really.
Thank you. I've been saying that as well, but people won't admit that they are different endings.
Yes, because at the end of a movie if a character is wearing a different shirt then it automatically is a different ending, which is a great way to sum up anyone saying that they are different endings. Well in this one all the humans die tooooo, and in this one Edi doesn't get off the shiippppp, oh, and the exploision changes color but nothing ellllssseeee.

I picked red because it was the only option that I believed would offer a permanent solution to the Reaper threat. Also, I hated the Star Child, he can go shove it if he thinks I'm letting this shitty cycle continue.

I'm sorry, EDI, but it had to be red.
God damn ninjas, only one thing can stop them and that is love. [really clingly hug]

I went green with my Paragon Shepard. Of course my first thought was red, so I could be really sure.
But I couldn't do that to Joker, EDI and Legion.
Blue I suspected to backfire anyway, I was kinda surprised when my Renegade Shepard did that and it kinda let to a slightly better outcome than green. Apart from all the havoc I caused before, but then, that hadn't been addressed.
well
Legion is already dead, and according to a friend of me, who went for the destroy ending, EDI wasn't affected as she came out of the ship after the crash landing
OT: I went with the Destroy ending
I set myself out to destroy them and its what I did =P

Red.
I refuse to read this thread or the spoiler tag in the OP. You suckered me in here!

I like red.

Blue, because it seemed that Shepard's mind is preserved in the Citadel, so I like to imagine that the next order of business is making the Reapers repair the Mass Relays - cannibalizing each other for parts, if necessary - before making them all dive into the closest stars.

I choose to glitch between two invisible walls and fall off the Citadel.

Best possible ending.

I played the Red version of Pokemon. I remember when I first played that game, I thought Charmeleon's name was pronounced "Char-melon"

...Oh wait we're talking about Mass Effect 3?

I chose the Destroy ending for my character. At the time I figured it was safer to kill the Reapers then risk them breaking out of my control. For my second character I chose Synthesis.

All of them. I reloaded and did each of them, since you know, as nearly a 100% Paragon Shep, I could.
It really wasn't that hard to get 100% paragon. I had 100% few missions before the Thessia mission, which is still a little ways away from the end.

This and I sacrificed so many other lives to ensure that the galaxy was safe from the reapers for ever. I sacrificed those krogan, and at the time Grunt, to save the rachni queen. Those Asari so I could get to that temple, The Fifth Fleet to save the council, hell I even planned to sacrificed ever person on that combined fleet to distract the Reapers until I could get to the citadel.
So why was sacrificing the Geth suddenly crossing the line?

See, this is exactly the kind of attitude I'm talking about. Character with a different shirt being the same as whether or not the Earth is completely destroyed or saved? How can you honestly tell me that's almost exactly the same? Something different happens, depending on what you choose to do and depending on what you've chosen to do during the game and you tell me there's not a difference? I get that people are upset over the ending and they have every right to hold that opinion, but blatanly stating things that aren't true, so that it suits their view of the ending, seems a bit weird to me.

Well, depending on your Shepard's motivations...

There can be a difference between letting people fight a seemingly hopeless battles... and just intentionally wiping them out.

Green,

SPOILERS *I don't know how to do the spoiler box thingy*

What I really wanted to do was shut that little bastard up about synthetics always at war with organics, I stopped the war with the Quarians and Geth, a war that the organic Quarians started. One of the my most valuable squad mates was a AI, so fuck you you little star child bastard. Why aren't you arguing Shep, this would be a good time for some Renegade interrupts.

It wasn't the ending itself that annoyed me, even though the 3 choices out of no ware part was crap, but it was how it shown the repercussions of your choice that was disappointing, I got quite moved as Shep jumped into the light making his ultimate sacrifice for all lifeforms (I even said good bye Shepard out loud) and then, quick 3 stills and Joker crashing the Normandy and him EDI and Liara (how the hell did she get off Earth, she was with me running for the beam) on a new planet. Then I check online only to find there is only minimal difference between the other colours.

But it's only the ending that's disappointing, and even then I can live with it, 10 minutes isn't gonna ruin the other 30 hours (with ME3, close to 90 is you include 1-3) I have with the game.
I've edited in a spoiler tag to the quoted post for you, to do them your self in the future just type {spoiler} your text goes here {/spoiler} only instead of using brackets like this { and this } use square ones instead like this one [ and this one ].

OT
Green, because i realised that i was not going to get anything remotely close to a satisfying ending and that was the one that required the least effort.

And here I was thinking this would be a reference to The Secret World. Nope, more Mass Effect. Time to go back to sleep.

Red.

My FemShep wasn't around to metaphorically enter a state of higher existence thus merging all organic life with little nanomachines that give you green eyes and glowing skin. Nor was she there to play babysitter and tell the Reapers that they all need to play nice and share their jawbreakers. My FemShep was there to wreck Reaper shit and that's exactly what the fuck she did: wrecked Reaper shit.

I INITIALLY thought that Red was the Paragon ending, with that vision of Anderson shooting that generator thing, but apparently I was wrong... for some reason. It was difficult, because...

I knew the Geth would die, so I muttered "I'm so sorry, Legion," before shooting it.

Green, because my mind shut down and I was just kind of doing that part of the ending on autopilot with little thought.
The beam looked so enticing...

Next time I'm going blue, because red would make me the biggest hypocrite in the world. I fought hard for peace between the Geth and the Quarians. I'm not gonna be the one pulling the trigger on that newfound relationship.
And if I actually become the boss and/or collective consciousness of the Reapers, then how hard would it be to use their l33t DNA-splicing skillz to make and subsequently assume control of a Shepard 3.0?

Moreover, it's the only ending where the Citadel remains intact. The Citadel has always been a very good representation of neutral ground for the galactic races, and it might have clues towards developing another mass relay network. Plus, weren't there, you know, people that live there? That's an important detail; I don't want to turn the neighborhood into a self-destructing superweapon again.
I'm not that evil.

All in all: I befriended the Turians. I befriended the Krogan. I got them to befriend each other. I got the Salarians on my side in spite of that. I got the Quarians and the Geth to play nice. Allied Rachni engineers and the remnants of the Batarian Hegemony are the icing on the cake. I've done every brand of impossible in everyone's books. Who's to say I can't end the war by doing the same to the Reapers?
No more reaping here. I think I'll have them take up the role of... a collective of galactic guardians. Guides. Assistants. Providers. Turn them into shepherds, if you will.

Plus, you put Starchild out of his job with every path, so does it really matter?
