Advice to follow, if only I was smart. ;-)Sandor [The Hound said:Clegane] Ultimately picture this, imagine the average netizen, chances are they're pretty dumb and a bit of a ****, well statistically 50% of netizens are worse than that, yeah worse. But chances are your not, so just focus on the other 50%![]()
Indeed, and it's the worst on Youtube because you always assume the people who take the time to think out proper responses wouldn't do that.Saulkar said:No problem, you had a lot of great stuff to say, much of which I found very relevant. EDIT: Oh, and never read Youtube comments. Just, don't do it.
AS for most youtube comment, I ignore them but there are those sneaky SOBs who start talking to you and lead you on a wild goose chase just to hurt you. Real Pro-Assholes.
Thanks again.
And okay, I'll be fair, there are times when I'll engage someone in a troll-war or something if they're claiming something with absolutely zero base or have ridiculously insane views.SidingWithTheEnemy said:Snip

That's not anything easier to acquire than a thicker skin is, but that's really what you need if you want to make it through this thing we call life in less than a thousand broken pieces. The things is, most people look to others to find their value, but that's always going to be a variable source - know who you are and what you are about and that you are the best you can be - and if you're not, start there and become that first. Then you'll be okay.
And stay sensitive - just be selective in your reception of certain elements. If we all "desensitize" then... well it's not going to be a better world, I can say that with some certainty.
While I liked being quoted (Yes, it's my ego and yes, it's bigger than yours) this is one of the few times where I don't understand why I am quoted in the first place. Could you enlighten me please?shrekfan246 said:[...]

For instance, the other week someone made a "Dark Souls isn't hard, just annoying!!!!11!!1!one!!!!1" thread, and I spent much longer than I should have stating how he was entitled to his opinion, but his analysis of the game mechanics held absolutely no basis in fact and about an hour after he made the thread it devolved into him and one other member just throwing out insults to everyone who tried to explain how Demon's/Dark Souls actually works, calling everyone mindless fanboys and the like. (Just for the record, I don't own Dark Souls and have never beaten Demon's, I was just sticking up for the actual genre the games are designed to be in because I like to think of myself as mildly educated on such things, regardless of their appeal to me.)
I was going on about the whole "ignoring people you don't agree with" and decided to truthfully state that I don't always ignore people that have views which grate my nerves. I suppose I should've left the edit in your post in my quote.SidingWithTheEnemy said:While I liked being quoted (Yes, it's my ego and yes, it's bigger than yours) this is one of the few times where I don't understand why I am quoted in the first place. Aaaaah, thank you very much, that's one of the problems with the "snip" command. Now it makes perfectly sense and yes you are right. Siding with "trolls" while knowing they are wrong is as wonderfully stress relieving as it gets. Plus my friends are dicks and i am to them, so we learned to not really be too bothered by stuff. Hell, my one friend lost his legs and the first thing I did after calling the ambulance was just start ragging on him about how he was no longer the tallest one of us anymore.
A train cut them off and either pinched the vessels or the heat/friction melted them shut. I dont know, when the doctor said i wasnt really listening, I just remember the doctor saying it was a miracle and I said something witty and degrading to my friend.Koroviev said:Wait, he lost his legs? Have another quote, because I simply wanted to say that you made me laugh out loud for a few minutes with both of those points that I left in. But I fear that I have nothing left to say on-topic for this thread, so I must bid it adieu.SidingWithTheEnemy said:Confusing snippity!

Which brings us to another point:
Be a backstabbing b*tch and agree at first and stab to death later. Very satisfying indeed!

Forgive me for my ignorance, but I've never really understood how people actually get hit by trains. A car, maybe. But a small, agile person? I mean, trains are not exactly silent... Furthermore, he'd have to have been laying across a track to get his leg chopped off.emeraldrafael said:A train cut them off and either pinched the vessels or the heat/friction melted them shut. That's...metal. And your friend didn't lose anything else of significance?emeraldrafael said:A train cut them off and either pinched the vessels or the heat/friction melted them shut.
