the gta games are numbered with enigine. first game on a new engine gets a number. gtaIV showed a really good engine, like gtaIII rockstar's next gta will expand the engine, adding new features and the like. my fingers are crossed for planes, car customising and a minigun :D

GTA: LONDAN (LONDON)
no, wait
GTA: TAKIO (TOKYO)

I've gotta say, the prospect of a GTA set in Russia or Africa is pretty promising, though I'm not sure I could trust Rockstar to make GTAfrica right.

I'll only buy it if they re-make GTA: London 1969. those are my conditions. Otherwise Rockstar, don't bother me with more of your smut.

GTA UK: A combination of Liverpool, London and Brighton, for preference.
You missed out Glasgow. :p My fair home city would be good home for some GTA-based antics. A side mission may or may not include repelling terrorists from a busy airport while dressed as a baggage handler...:)

I don't care where it's set so long as the tanks come back.

Being a little more specific GTA Tokyo.
all of that together.

Man, that would be friggin' awesome.

Imagine, some girl driving around in a tank, squashing sushi bars. Or blowing up those weird high-tech toilets. And imagine the gangs; not just yakuza, but also sumo wrestlers, geisha, samurai, and all such stereotypes. Realistic, no. Fun, HELL yes! Long live GTA2 wackyness!

On the subject of GTA2 wackyness, just put it in Tokyo, few years into the future. Not with all those laser-guns 'n stuff, mostly bullet weapons, but some 'experimental' guns, like that electricity-gun from GTA2. Man that was fun.

The thing I find bad about the latest GTA-games is that they take themselves too serious, like Yathzee said. (No, I do not consider myself a Yathzee 'fanboy'.)

GTA5 should not exist. I was far to disappointed by GTA4. However if I must chose I would say Tokyo.
