GTA has always been overrated. I've played them all and each time they sucked, so no, I wont even waste my time this time.

I'd never skip work just to get a head start on a game. Work's what lets me buy games in the first place.

I'm not going to, as I'm not a GTA person - and even if I was, that's just not the kind of thing I do. But I remember my (I believe senior year of) high school, when GTA IV came out - both my band instructor and our student teacher band instructor were MIA the first day GTA was released, and they out-and-out admitted to us that they had both been playing GTA when they came in the next day.

All I can say is I certainly won't, I'm not even gonna buy it tomorrow, or ever, most likely.

Nor would I do that with a game I was really excited about. Even Half-Life 3 can wait 1 extra fucking day, I'm not 7 years old.
Damn, well kudos to you then.

I would imagine something like this is nigth impossible to resist.

I find it silly that people are skipping work/school for this (hell, I was insanely excited about Skyrim and I went to school that day) Can't they go to work/school and come back to it? Feels more satisfying.
This. It is immensely more satisfying playing a game after a good days work.

I would if I could afford to There are a number of complications that are going to keep me from getting the game immediately after launch...I would love to skip work to play the thing but that just isn't an option. Besides, if I did skip work, I probably wouldn't be able to play GTAV

One day later you guys play it is one day later that you'll be bored with it in the future, so I don't get why people compromise their vacation or sick day amounts when it will be the same amount of time played anyway.

I'm skipping college, but it's because all the roads around my house have been closed because there of the "tour of britain" bicycle race so I have no proper way to get there besides I two hour walk there and back, it has absolutely nothing to do with GTA.
I have never skipped school or college for a game release and I'm not starting now...even though I kind of am...

Seeing as how I personally know someone who quit work and moved back into his parent's house so that he could join a raiding guild in WoW, it doesn't really surprise me that people would call in, or request for the day off.

As for me, I might by a game/movie/CD on release, but if I can't play it for a week, whatever, I'll still get to play it. I've never understood why people want to be the first people to play/beat a game.

I couldn't imagine skipping class to play GTA. I plan on going to my friend's house to play it after class tomorrow and I feel sort of guilty about THAT.

I honestly think it's disgusting that somebody would even consider skipping work for something like this.

If you took off tuesday to play, or had vacation time good for you. IF you called in sick or skipped school, man you got fucked up priorities... Even if your job sucks, what you do and how you handle yourself directly relates to how much character you have (or lack).

People do it for Call of Duty, FIFA or whatever new iPhone comes out. So really i'm not surprised.

Skipping class? No. Having all of my work done so I can play it from when I get home until when I have to leave for class the next day? No comment.

I don't have work to skip, but I might have to drag my overtired butt to a meeting. Nothing a 2 hour nap beforehand won't remedy.

Well, I would, but I'm unemployed. I am busy tomorrow and won't be able to play for a few hours due to a much needed therapy appointment, but UPS delivers pretty late anyway so I'm only missing about two, maybe three hours maximum.

I know I won't. The idea of skipping work or college to play a videogame sounds a bit silly.

But I hope the mailman takes his day off to play his copy of GTA V.

I'm not going to, I'm too serious about my work. I am going to buy a copy tomorrow and rush home to play it right away after work. Sad thing is I could totally call in sick and they've believe me, probably because I don't do that sort of stuff.

My 360 is actually going to see a new disc, after all this time. Possibly the last one before it's replaced by a PS4.
