Guess we are both guilty of not exactly being clear on communication.

Another tendency I noticed for SOME escapist forumites (enough that I think of it as a common attitude and contributes to me preferring to be on other forums where I feel this attitude is less prevalent) is to write a TL DR and slide in some snide remarks or acting condescending while maintaining an air of intellectual superiority (I could write entire poems about this attitude!)
And in this case my Research Methods teacher would be having a go at you for making such assumptions: "Just because there's a correlation does not mean there is a causation!" as he constantly shouts at us. Meaning that you MIGHT have had no mod warnings cos of your impeccably good manners, but it doesn't prove it. An alternative explanation for example might be the TL DR+ condescending attitude and remarks is light enough to not be worthy of a report, but strong enough to still give you a buzz of "yeah, im better then this random person on net, yey me!"
If you really wanted to part ways and end the conversation amicably, something along the lines of "I think if we should just leave it here"+something friendly to show your a "cool" person maybe.
Instead the way it was built seems like you wanted to act the sage, slide in a little slap of your own, then end conversation with +1 epeen.

In this case, you got an analysis of the impression you gave me ^^ Probably doesn't correspond to how you act in rl but ask yourself if this net persona is really the one you want.
