If you have a solid case of altitis, then go for it. It's the game for you. If you want a solid end game with patient players that have the ability to work in an organised group to take on a challenge much larger than you, then this is in no way the game for you.
Guild Wars 2 is pretty much a single player MMO that just happens to have a bunch of other people running around and shitting up the local chat in any given zone. With the occasional elite monster that you might get lucky enough that other players will coordinate with you long enough to bring it down. Which is rare unless it's the same event level cap players spam over and over for points.
If you love exploring, GW2 rewards you nicely for that. I found myself leveling way too fast just by running around and getting 100% completion for zones. There is no level scaling, it takes roughly the same amount of experience to level from 9-10 as it does from 59-60 so you'll find yourself ending up back in level 15 zones when you run out of areas at your level and demolish your way through the quests and events because even though your level and bas stats level down, your equipment does not.
The game is extremely broken in balance in PvP and WvWvW is just a zergfest. Whoever has the most players wins as you just find groups of players will just run at each other and hope they happen to live. The character combo system is sub par and rarely used except on coincidence.
Honestly, I found GW2 to be the very definition of a theme park MMO. You're not on rails but it's an entirely controlled experience. There is absolutely no penalty for death and the skill ceiling for every class is extremely low. Having all abilities available to every class from level 1 makes your character feel like they never grow and makes them feel very monotonous by level cap.
In short, I didn't like GW2. I thought it was very boring and missed the point of an MMO - community and teamwork. If you don't like MMOs and want a multiplayer RPG, GW2 is probably for you. It requires no dedication and characters level quickly so if you love making alts it's probably a good game for you.
