This video [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBC_ig73aMs] recently popped up on youtube and has quickly become well-received, for highlighting Top 10 Reason why anyone (this person in particular) should be interested in the upcoming MMO Guild Wars 2.

What's great is that this person isn't a fanboy (hasn't even played Guild Wars 1), so it's just 10 well explained points that make Guild Wars 2 worth looking into, amongst all the well established & upcoming MMORPGs. I'll just say that his 5th & 1st reasons are what piss me off about a lot of MMOs (Star Wars: TOR included).

So check it out and share your thoughts and if you are now interested in Guild Wars 2, you can find more info in the following sites.
- GuildWars2.com [http://www.guildwars2.com/]
- Arena.net/blog [http://www.arena.net/blog/category/guild-wars-2]

EDIT: For those wondering how being in a group without having to rely on a tank or healer will actually work, ArenaNet actually demonstrated how a small group of good players (a Guardian, a Warrior & a Thief) can tackle fairly simple content...

No! No, don't do it! Must not watch the video! It'll just make me want to play the game. I can't afford it. My social life can't take the hit. Guild Wars 1 cost me 8 months of my life. Never again!

*watched vid*

That looks pretty cool. Maybe I should look into pre-ordering... oh, God. It begins. Back, vile demons! I will not play your games!

Awesome, thanks for the video. It might just be the next MMO I look into, from the looks of it.

I admit, i'm impressed. I mentioned looking at TOR as something better, but maybe Guild Wars 2 can be the game I leave WoW for.

The combat looks a lot more fluid, and the ability to be self sufficient is a major perk. Which leads into the lack of class roles, i'm tired of being forced into being a healer for my guild just because i'm the only one good enough to do it. I want to blow shit up dammnit!

I'm intrested in seeing what the system requirements will be. It looks pretty and there seems to be a lot of flashy moves, i'm just concerned with lag. Part of what makes WoW so successful is the fact that it can be played on any system made after 2000. While I doubt that'll be true for Guild Wars 2, i'm hoping it'll still be able to run without having to spend $600 upgraded my memory/graphics card to play it.

Uhh pretty much everything the video said now that I've watched it. I was only in it for the freeplay and the dynamic world thingy, but with so many other options being in there or being omitted (like the flying), I'm wanting this one.

I'm cautiously optimistic! But then again I was with the original Guild Wars as well, and while I tend to think I got my moneys worth from that, it turned out to be a less than stunning experience (Extremely nice visuals for their time and soundtrack aside!).

Still, the mere fact it doesn't have any subscription fees means there's a good chance I'll end up picking it up at some point just like I did the original. We'll see!

And on a side note, I happen to enjoy playing a healing class in MMO's... just saying...

You enjoy playing baby-sitter to a bunch of ADD-afflicted pyschotics? Are you insane!?

Sometimes. I like a challenge! I much prefer when a group works well together and the best times are when I'm playing with friends with each of us filling a different role, but trying to keep a shit group alive can be entertaining at times as well.

Like I said, I like a challenge and I'm thick-skinned enough that crybaby complaining about the latest 'wipe' don't get to me.

Oh wait... Insane... The Madman... I get it now. Heh!

So subtle that I myself didn't notice. :D

I used to be able to handle the bitching. Over half a decade of unfathomable stupidity have eaten away at my sanity though. I like a challenge, I enjoy endlessly wiping on a new boss with my guild until we get it right. What I don't enjoy is getting no respect, being blamed when we fail, and dealing with the realization that this "game" is starting to feel more like "work" to me.

... My one concern is that the game is bound to be very heavily instanced in order to accommodate this type of combat, correct? And that could kinda ruin the social aspect of it at times. Then again, sometimes you don't want to be reading hours of Chuck Norris jokes and religious debates.

I was already interested in Guild Wars 2, but I'm trying to keep it snug in the back of my mind because I know it will be a good while before it's release. Chances are it gets bumped to 2012.
The game has given no evidence that it will be a heavily instanced game and everything points to it being an open persistent world, with a few instances for story-telling, dungeons & PvP. Heck, it's even able to support 60+ random players beating on an open-world boss [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pX8GJcGIVbI], without any major performance issues. Now how many other MMOs allow upwards of 100 players to fight in an area without severe lag & DC'ing? Note that Guild Wars 2 is not even in beta yet.

I've been interested in GW2 since the day it was announced, and it's only been getting more interesting since then in my opinion.

Top 3 reasons to be cautious as freaking hell about GW 2.

1. They shifted their philosophy by 180' - from PvP focused game to PvE grind, from regular content every 6 months and weekly-biweekly skill balances to QUARTERLY balances and shops where you buy event items...
2. They can't make PvE fun. Sure missions are good, but it's one time only. Dungeons are new in 50% - half of them are identical to others, and the rest is simply a matter of 2 days before someone finds a way to breeze through all levels, get to boss and kill him in time normal groups CAN'T achieve.
3. They don't care about balance when releasing new content.
