Guitar Hero does NOT make you a rockstar!

I play Guitar Hero and I know right off from the start I am not a real Guitar Hero.
However, I would love to Learn to play the guitar for real, and I think because of Guitar Hero it can influence people to want to play for real instead of a plastic thingy with buttons.
Not everyone will mind you, but some will.

Isn't playing a guitar bashing strings on a fibrous material toy in rapid succession? Mind you I'm not saying it's easy and if I could pick one of the two to be good at it would be the real thing but still...

If he's really that good at Guitar Hero, he probably doesn't have a lot else going for him.

I play both guitar and Guitar Hero.I find both fun,and I know the difference.

P.S. I started playing guitar before I even knew that there was a game called Guitar Hero.

That game got me so immersed that one day during a conversation a mate of mine said something a bit shocking and i ended up saying "By the Maker!".

I've got a friend who asked me to teach him guitar. It pisses me off how he complains about how he doesn't get better even though all he would do was play guitar hero.

*brings his fuelcan* Right. I have one word for this one.... "CONTEXT". A person who can play a difficult song on Guitar Hero can play a difficult song on Guitar Hero. A person who can play a difficult song on the real thing is a person who can play a difficult song on the real thing.

SOME of these people overlap. MOST don't.

It all depends on context, and what people want to do. Alright?

Okay i was talking to a mate of mine (He is a die-hard GH player) and he was bragging about 100%ing Raining Blood by Slayer on Expert (No small task). I was fine with this......until he started acting like he was a pro who knew everything there is to know about guitar.

It's halo MLG syndrome all over again. As an actual Guitarist (Playing for 9 years now) it annoys the hell out of me to see Nerds like him acting like rockstars. His head is so far up his own ass that he can't realise that he is just pressing buttons a plastic toy in rapid succession.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Don't hate the player, hate the game. Don't mean to toot my own horn but I am very good at Gears of War however I recognise that in a real life alien invasion I would probably be the last person to call on for help. But am I gonna brag when I get all the achievements? Fuck yeah I am.

It's considerably harder on guitar hero (speaking as someone who can play it on both)
OT: I think I bragged a bit when I did that as well, but only jokingly really; I always think playing guitar is much cooler and I don't think people want to hear for the 74th time why I'm so much better than them for succeeding at the colour matching game
