So far, I think it looks decent enough. That said, I'm a bit disappointed to see several pop hits from the last couple of years on there, as well as many songs that were in previous Guitar Hero games already.

Black Veil Brides was in the original Guitar Hero, by the way. Not that I think you are wrong to feel the way you do, just pointing out that that is a poor example to use as proof that the playlist is getting worse.

Yes, they did. I'm giving them a slight pass on "Message in a Bottle", since that was from the Harmonix era, but no excuses for reusing a song from GHIII.

Edit: After some research, they had already re-done "Message in a Bottle" for Guitar Hero: Smash Hits. So, not only are they re-using a song that was in a previous Guitar Hero game, but they are re-using a song they had already re-used before.

Not gonna lie the new style they are using turned me off quite and it looks like the songs will finish the job. Guess I will see what Rock Band can bring but im not sure I am ready to jump back in tbh.

The abundance of recent(ish) pop hits is kind of disappointing. 'Ho Hey' really jumps out as a terrible song for the game, even though I don't mind listening to it. Doubling up on artists in the second list seems like variety is only going to get poorer too.

I don't see why reusing some songs would be considered bad. They have already used a huge chunk of classic guitar based songs, and that's on games from a long time ago. Not including a few is limiting themselves quite a bit. I'm not saying whole playlists, but a few of the classics from the older games wouldn't go a miss bar the 2 they already have.

Still, piss poor list, and I really don't like the visual direction they have taken. Count me out.

Seconded. Some Pearl Jam wouldn't hurt either. Not liking the look of the pop and scremo (screamo?) Abundance there. There are so many talented, varied bands to choose from, but this looks like an attempt to appeal to the typical younger demographic taste.
