Let me start off by saying I neither intend nor desire for this to become a debate on the merits and flaws of gun control legislation. There is already a healthy thread going for that debate.

To those of you in the Escapist community who are gun owners, what do you currently have in your collection? What are some that you would like to own? Any particular preferences?

For those too young to own firearms in your locale, what about your parents/grandparents collections?

Personally, at this point and time (if the thread gets interesting there may be photos in the future)I own the following in absolutely no particular order.

Mauser K98k - 8mm Mauser
Savage Axis - .270 Winchester
US Issue M1 Carbine - .30 Carbine
Winchester 1200 - 2 3/4" 12 gauge
Winchester model 68 - .22
Colt 1911 - .45ACP
Beretta 92FS - 9mm

I have often found that there are few things as stress relieving as a day at the range. I started shooting when I was 6 years old with my father and have loved it as a hobby ever since.

My Uncle carries a Jericho handgun with him to almost every occasion.
It's strange, creepy, homicidal, I usually stay away from him because of his spontaneous rage, but overall he's a swell guy.

Well, I don't own one.

But my father owns a Ruger .22 which he says I can have when I get older. Nice gun. I think it is the same one I learned to shoot with.

He has a 6 shot revolver. My brother really likes this. The name escapes me.

He also has a 12 gage shotgun he uses for hunting. Again, I don't know the name.

Mmmmm, I'm going to have to do more research.

I don't have any guns because guns are expensive and I can't shoot worth a damn, but someday when I have the spare cash I'm going to get a desert eagle, just for the sake of having one.

A mark XII .50 B-)

S&W M&P AR-15 with telescoping stock with rubber should piece, a scope, 16 inch barrel with a 1/9 twist, chambered in .223/5.56 NATO. I call it Bob.

I also have a Savage Arms model 12 with accutrigger, 26 inch heavy barrel, Leupold scope, and Harris bipod. I don't recall the exact twist on the barrel, but it's also chambered in .223/5.56 NATO.

One day, I aspire to own a .50 cal or .338 but I'll be saving up for those, and I'm not sure wha I'd shoot with it other than pickup trucks. XD

Got 4. Well, will have 4. 3 now, 4th soon. I fail hard at counting. A glock 17, a musket, and a flintlock pistol.

The musket and flintlock even fire! Fun to fire as well, though about as accurate as... well they're not accurate. Like, at all.

Still, makes hitting something with 'em that much sweeter.

As for the 4th, well I'm my birthday's coming up. So who knows what I'll get!

PO8 Luger, 9mm.

Sweet pistol, since the recoil is unlike most other handguns. I like it, it's different, weight is comfortable, recoil is managable. However, the magazines are an absolute ***** to load... they're unlike other magazines in the fact that you have to pull the spring down, where most you just force the bullet down to make the spring move with it.

Also unique, an ATI-14, which basically is an AR-15 that shoots .410 shotgun shells. Recoil is almost non existant, but it jams a bunch and the magazine can only fit five shells.

i own some kind of 9mm handgun, not sure about the details. it's black and pretty generic looking i guess. it serves it's purpose as well as any other gun i could own. and i don't need to own any others.

Inherited and passed down guns are the best. My M1 Carbine was my paternal grandfather's service weapon in WW2. The .22 Winchester was his as well. He got it when he was a kid and it came to me when he passed away along with the M1. The shotgun belonged to my grandfather on my mother's side of the family. I wouldn't trade them for anything.

The accutriggers are fantastic. That was my one regret when I got my Axis was that it neither came with one nor could it be fitted with one later due to the receiver design.

A lever-action .22 rifle with no bullets, if push comes to shove I'm sure it will make a lovely club.

Two small snub revolvers from a European manufacturer I never heard of which may not exist anymore. They're blank guns now because my grandpa welded metal into the barrels, but they're cool-looking for what it's worth.

Ooo...let's see...

First was a Remington AE in 12 ga with hunting barrel, but it's got an 18 inch riot barrel now.
Second was a Colt Government Model .45 auto with a lot of customization and gunsmithing work on it. (grips, sights, trigger, ambidexterious slide release, beveled mag well)

After them they get hazy...

Colt AR-15 with custom furtinture, EoTech Holosight, foregrip and tactical light.
Bushmaster AR-15 with red-dot.
Mossberg 850a with tactical light and rifle sights.
Uberti 1873 Cattleman in .45 long colt revolver.
Remington 700 bolt action in 30.06, my grandfathers old hunting rifle.
Sig Sauer 226 in 9mm, stock but it's my favorite carry piece.
Edit: And a single shot break action 10ga that kicks like a mule...but is SO fun to shoot.

I think that's everything, but my collection is the tiny one in the family... I used to impulse by guns the way some people impulse buy shoes...most gun stores were on a first name basis with me.

Those Mausers are a trip to shoot at the range, aren't they? The steel buttplate is... unforgiving at best ;-) I've also got an M9, since it's the same pistol I carry in the USN. As for your savage... one is on my "To Buy" list for sure!

In addition... lets see. 3 AR15's, 1 Yugoslavian AK, Glock 26 subcompact 9mm, and a Taurus PT1911 .45

Freedom, it's a beautiful thing!

I have a Walther P22. A small .22 pistol, mainly for plinking away at target, which is pretty much all I do with it anyway.

As you can see I'm not much of a collector, I use the gun at the range maybe 5 times a year. The only other gun I use it my father's Springfield XD9, again only for plinking away at targets. It's alright I suppose, I do prefer my P22 though.

I would like the Walther P99 too, but I don't know if I'll ever get around to it.

For rodents a Bolt action 22. center fire that is older then dust and a 17 pellet gun for smaller rodents.

In the cabinet the old man has 2 30-30 lever actions and a 12 gauge browning (never fired) and a 12 gauge Winchester.

Well. Let's just say I'm well armed. I even bought a plate carrier. It matches my AK. And my handgun. I'm a sucker for stuff painted tan.

Though; out of my collection I like shooting my Enfields the most. Followed closely by a 1903.

I grew up with old military clunkers and actually do WW2 reenacting in my spare time. Problem now is that whenever someone mentions an arm younger than 60 years old my eyes glaze over as I struggle to understand.

Mauser k98k (1937) - 8mm
Mosin-Nagant (1927) - 7.62 R
Mauser Gewehr '98 (1916) - 8mm
Springfield 1903 (1903) - 30.06
Springfield 1861 Rifle Musket
Arisaka Type 38 - 6.5 Jap (on the way)

Some nice history here though: you shoot that M1 Carbine Frost27? Or is that a collector's piece?

I agree with the Luger reloading action YellowCellPhone - our German unit officer has one. He's used to it now but he tried teaching me the other day. Sexy-looking though.
