The Plasma Cutter from Dead Space. No matter who (or what) comes at you in the dead of night, you will be prepared!

Too lazy to lurk and see if I've been ninja'd, but I'd choose the noisy cricket.

Small enough to be comfortable under the pillow, but deadly enough to be worth keeping.

The title says it all friends, what gun would you sleep with and why.
My vote goes to the Seeker from singularity because it can slow down time, and lets you control the bullets path.
BFG 9000!

Not practical, but all I have to do is press fire and everything near me that's bad would die!
Oh c'mon! Don't steal my choice! D:

Fine, I'll just put a creeper under my pillow...

You picked the one gun in here liable to destroy you and your room if you roll over in your sleep. XD

I don't like guns they seem over powered in real life (can't understand why so many people want and own them),I'd have a Gladius i want to feel his blood on my hands, or maybe a chainsword if i'm feeling pyschotic( feth clean-up)

While I am fond of the 1911 series I think I should name something else for originality. How about the new Military and Police handgun [http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg/usa/sw-military-police-e.html]? Does anyone with actual experience have any opinions on this weapon?

Also it has been said before but keeping a handgun under your pillow is a bad idea for a whole host of reasons with accidental discharge at the top of the list. If you are really worried about intrusion then keep the weapon in a nightstand or you can use one of those side mounted bed racks that paranoid nutcases buy.

FOR THE DARK GODS!
Aren't bolters essentially armor piercing grenades launchers? An armor piercing grenade launcher infused with dark energy, too.

OT: For practicality, a snub-nose.

For fun, a Browning Light Machine Gun.

A fifty caliber sniper rifle with exploding incendiary rounds. That's right they explode whilst setting you on fire.

(I have a big pillow)

Got a Walther P38 next to my bed(don't think I will ever have a gun under my pillow), but I'm going to replace it with a CZ-97B in the coming months.
...that's quite the upsize there. Any reason you're going with the CZ-75's big brother instead of a more traditional .45?
I ask because this [http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n182/loc978/Photos/IMAGE_00236.jpg] is my least favorite of all the guns in my collection. Still, I like it better than the 92Fs that I used on active duty...
As for the size difference I've never had an issue with .45s. Living in CA my options are limited and the features I would like make my options even more so. I like the 97B clip size, ergos, thumb safety, weight, and sights(the one I'll be picking up has night sights). The most common semiautos in the stores I go to are Berettas, Sigs, Glocks, XDs, and 1911s all good guns but either don't have the features I want, don't like the ergos, or simply too expensive.

Edit: If you know any metal frame .45s aside from the 1911 I am always open to suggestions. I don't know every gun on the market but I do try to take my time and research potential buys if you know any I missed I am willing to be schooled.

You're wrong there buddy, my 1911 has 10 round magazines. Of course, they're after market, but they're still available. Not too sure if the P38 has them though. Yea, there's the whole moving out of state thing, but handgun capacity should be one of the lesser things on your list then. Besides, if it's for home defense and you've had enough time with it to get used to the firearm, you don't need a huge magazine capacity. In close quarters almost every round will put em down in one shot.
I wouldn't want to spend more money for after market mags that don't sit flush and from what I've been told reduce reliability. I could be wrong as I said earlier I don't know everything. Mag capacity was never my top priority but if the guns that I'm looking at are in my price range have: the same ammo, good ergonomics, a thumb safety, and are both reliable why not get the one with the extra 2 rounds? Don't want to get combative. I've used a few 1911s what kind do you have?

I'd want something quick and light, and not too conspicuous. So I'd probably go for one of these:

Berretta U.22 Neos. Provides quick and manoeuvrable fire-power without sacrificing reliability and ease of use. The 6" version would give it some serious stopping power, though if you want to twirl it on your finger then go for the 4.5, range shouldn't be a problem in a bedroom anyway.

It also looks badass.

From a realistic standpoint, a Sig P239 [http://world.guns.ru/userfiles/images/handguns/switzerland/1287726117.jpg] would be nice. Or maybe a 1911 [http://www.jeffcooperbooks.com/1911.h1.jpg]. Preferably that one from Suckerpunch [http://images.wikia.com/movieweapon/images/a/ae/Sucker-Punch-movie-image-3.jpg].

Which brings me to unrealistic. How about a Desert Eagle [http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_3JjeqDaA0m0/TMQCuKwVltI/AAAAAAAAAGQ/ui9prcqQvIY/s1600/80592301.jpg]? Though even being unrealistic, I'd still probably prefer one chambered for .44 magnum rounds so I could realistically handle it in a life-or-death situation. A 50AE one would only save me if I hit on the first shot, because after that my arms would be up in the air (like I just don't care) from the massive recoil.

The tempest from Mass Effect 2 with cryo ammo because it's awesome for firing wildly at things. Which is probably what I'd end up doing if anything attacked me in my sleep *flails*. Just let them try and take my sc2 Joker hat GRRRRR.
