Lasgun from 40K. It's more powerful than a modern assault rifle, hardier than an AK, and can be charged via campfire. Shot charge can be modified to increase ammunition, fire rate, or damage, depending on what you need. And for some reason, despite it using lenses, light, and a battery, it still produces recoil.
"Campfire" charging, however, is a sure fire way to short out your magazines though. Any Mechanicus catching you doing that will smack you on the head with their staff.

Though I have always had a dirty desire for a .300 BLK with a 10 inch barrel and a suppressor. Put subsonic ammo in it and it would be just fantastic. The ballistics would be shit after 100 yards, but it would be fantastic.

I'm retro... I'd like a Baker, a Dreyse, and a Chassepot, that'd do me... -.-
In the words of an unspeakable creature...too old. I like old guns, but there's bolt-action and then there's fugtastic. Having said that, though, you seen any of the guns in the upcoming Battlefield? They look like fun on a bun!

If I ever actually buy myself a gun, I very much hope it will be a Colt SAA.

Aside from owning what's probably the ultimate piece of Americana, I want to know exactly what it's like to actually fire one of them. It'll probably knock me on my ass - but I still wanna do it!
It kicks fairly hard, but it isn't as out of control as people say really. Far more importantly, if you ever get the chance... EAR PROTECTION. There really aren't words for how much louder this gun is than a person might expect. Overall impression, it's the Shakespeare gun. "Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

I like pointing out to people that despite it being possibly the worst general gun in the game, it is still better than almost any rifle we could make today.

I've recently been painting up some WW2 German infantry and so I've come to appreciate the look of the German rifles, specifically:

It just looks cool to me.

Restricting to what I have, my favorite pistol is a Glock 17 Gen 4. It's accurate, fairly comfortable, and has a pretty smooth trigger that helps you stay on target, and the standard mags are 17 rounds. Grip can get a big harsh on the hand after prolonged use though. Seems semi difficult to disassemble to me. Buttons are so flush with the gun it's hard to hold and slide them back.

I also really like my 1940s Walther PP. With the hammer back, it has a hair trigger and is very smooth and accurate. Without pre-cocking it's very heavy pull so odds are it can't go off accidentally, plus the safety. Snaps harder than you'd think for .32 on the recoil but the weight of the pistol dampens it very quickly, allowing for quick follow up shots without losing a lot of accuracy. Disassembly for cleaning is very easy, except the mags. Putting that spring back in is a pain.

As for rifles, that would be a Smith & Wesson MP 15 Sport. It's basically an AT-15. Fires .223 / 5.56 mm rounds. Even with just iron sights, it is very accurate and comfortable to shoot. Can leave some tenderness on the shoulder though, but that's probably due the the size of the rounds.

If I had a lot of money to waste, a Desert Eagle .50 would be pretty sweet, if a bit excessive. :)

I've been to a gun range before. Bored the crap out of me. If I want a gun, it'll have to be something I can legally fire at others, like a paintball gun, a water gun, an air gun, or a nerf gun. If I'm not engaged in mock combat with other people, then I might as well save myself the money and go play a game of darts.

I'm looking into pistol shooting in Australia. Which is a lot of jumping through hoops. But I've tried it out and found it heaps fun. I'm looking perhaps at western action with a lever rifle, 2 single action pistols and a shotgun.

20g Beretta Silver Pigeon 1/4 & 1/2
12g Beretta Silver Hawk 1/4 & 3/4
The pump and semi-auto have a capacity restriction right?

The funny thing is in Australia I can't own either (restriction or not) on my license. But I can own a lever action shotgun that can hold 7+2 shells (can ghostload another shell if you fiddle it). Well for the moment at least...
