NGE was different. It turned out how it did because Anno recently got out of depression when he was put in charge of NGE and he wanted to share, more or less, how he got out of it.

That's beside the point, the end of NGE was just as insane as TTGL and FLCL, it's just what Gainax does.

The end of NGE was only so incredibly confusing and hard to understand because Gainax completely ran out of budget. The movie End of Evangelion is Gainax making amends for that and showing what the true ending is.

Again, beside the point. Even including End of Evangelion, it's still insane. Not in any "hard to understand" sense, but in just flat insanity. Just like FLCL and TTGL and presumably every other Gainax production.

You're just stubborn. Just because it's Gainax doesn't mean it has to be completely insane and undecipherable by human minds. I say the second half of NGE completely pounds TTGL into the dirt when it comes to making Freud turn in his grave though.

I never said undecipherable, I just meant over the top insane. Listen. To. Me. Not incomprehensible, just excessive. And both FLCL and TTGL get excessive by the end as well.

In a series talking about Gods and Angels, and ultimately, the recreation of Earth, I don't believe Rei turning into a giant white Goddess-type creature capable of turning everything on earth into 'tang' is excessive at all.

Nah, that's different. NGE falls into the realm of very slight possibility in the universe it takes place in. FLCL can get you contact high if you watch it all in one sitting and TTGL starts getting overly excessive soon after Simon combines with the ship, and it just gets more and more and more...

What does that have to do with anything? Just because NGE isn't as surreal as FLCL doesn't mean it isn't excessive. And if we're going by that, the whole TTGL universe runs off the rule of cool, everything they do is within the logic of their universe. They all get excessive and over the top by the end, the only difference is the mood between them.

I didn't find NGE insane at all and the original ending is excusable by EoE. If you find it insane, that's up to you and your own mind.

In my opinion, it is the best anime I HAVE EVER SEEN, with explosions that make Transformers 2 look like EyeToy: Play.

It is the most awesome anime ever. EVER!!!!! It is my favorite anime followed closely by One Piece. It is epic. Anyone who has not seen these anime SEE IT... I believe you can see it at Animeseason.com. You can see it for free so you have no excuse for seeing it. After you watch it buy a copy to support the company because it is that good an anime.
