You probably would have the same attitude towards this after living with an abusive parent who used to slap around your mum for no other reason than "because she was there". So please forgive me if it sounds arrogant, but thats my reason for what I said. It may of been an over reaction but I saw far too much of this shit when I was younger.

I'd restrain her if she was threatening, or at least try to the best of my ability, but I drilled it into myself to never hit a woman after years of seeing my mum get slapped about by my dad. Thats just the way I've been raised and my opinion on it.

Regardless the very premise of the show is idiotic; I doubt many people would watch it for longer than a single episode - I assume the gimmick gets old fast. Regardless I think he did the right thing - from what I can see the women shouldn't have hit him - it's meant to be about verbal abuse (I think?) yet she clearly attacks him - when something like that occurs, and red mist descends, you can't be held responsible (entirely) for your actions...which just makes the fact he is attacked by a large crowd even more ridiculous...

I also disagree with OP, if a woman slaps someone innappropriatly then it is fine to slap back and if it turns into a fight then so be it. Then again, if you are slapped innapropriatly, it is kinda a dick move to to proper right hook to the jaw sort of thing.
