I have noticed a pattern in most of my female friends that make this statement. They tend to date, sleep with, and hit on nothing but "pretty boys". They choose men that are superficial, selfish, self absorbed, and good looking in a feminine way. and then they have the unmitigated gall to complain that men are the problem.

No, you stupid *****, stop dating assholes!!!! stop dating guys that are looking for a quick hookup or are going to treat you like their own private hooker!! Stop being so superficial!!

I have noticed this too: when men are superficial about a womans looks, that is BAD and we are TERRIBLE human beings for it. when a woman does it though, its ok.

Dear women,

a guy who looks like he spends four hours a day primping before going out probably does. this indicates a narcissistic complex. and probably that he is a punk that will ditch you the second a mugger or rapist shows up so that he does not get his pretty face damaged. If you date said men, and then come crying to us about how men are assholes, we will simply, and quietly sai "I told you so".

signed,
the men on the planet that you wouldn't give a second look until you need a shoulder to cry on.

Surely some other escapists have run into girls like this. The ones who will make statements like "I wish we lived in a world where all guys werent complete fuckfaces". Even if they aren't necessarily (stereotypically) feminist, this just totally drives me insane. I don't want to say it's sexist, because I almost think they don't mean literally "all guys" when it's said, but it certainly comes out that way. Like if I said "I wish all women would stop being such dumb bitches", I'd probably be assaulted for it.

How much does this annoy others, if it does?
the saddest part is that there are feminist groups but none for men... so when you are discriminated by feminists who you gonna call ?

i'd say that because of the equity of the sexes we should add to this topic, "Girls are also assholes" but then feminists would say i'm a machoman... it's a neverending infernal circle.

It annoys me, but when someone does it, I tend to look them in the eye and reply with an insulting blanket statement about women. They get mad, but then the double standard sinks in and they usually cut it out.

Although, at my college, there tended to be a vicious cycle among a percentage of the people: A normal girl is hurt by a manipulative douche, she becomes a cold-hearted shrew. She hurts a normal guy, he becomes a manipulative douche who hurts a normal girl. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Im pretty sure thats life.

Yeah I hate those kinds of vast generalizations of all males...
that being said I'm as big a gentleman as I've seen (in this area) and and... well yeah it drives me mad, not like I run around saying all girls are idiots just because I know one or two that don't even know how to turn on a computer

We should all sing the song

Viva La A**Hole!

OT - Seriously, why should we worry about a girl who doesn't have her own crap together? That's her problem not ours.

Yeah, I'm generally confused when a girl says that. Did she date an asshole, turned a guy into asshole, liked a guy who didn't return her feelings ? Either way it's funny phase some of them go through, well, unless you're on the receiving end of it. But I guess it's better to ***** about us being assholes than to silently put up with one. One of my friends mistreats his poor girlfriend to the point where I want to smack him over the head, and poor gal just puts up with his shit. Makes me sad...

I've recently been put in a precarious position where trying to become friends with this girl has her best friends up in arms against me. While I do understand why, what I can't swallow down is being treated like some kind of villain for something I didn't do.

So yeah, I don't like it.

Usually if I say it, it's because I'm just having a bad moment. I never normally mean it straight off. Something said in anger.

I did however get really excited that this would be a massive rant about guys tho :p haha

I can imagine that those are the kind of women that "don't know how to pick 'em" or whatever. I've heard it only a few times in person, and I never found it that annoying. I can imagine it would get truly bothersome after enough times, but I haven't heard it enough to say.

Hmm...This post seems to be the "male" equivalent to the "female" complaint. The scare quotes are to indicate my distrust of any generalizations according to gender. I think this just proves that both sexes are capable of making unfair generalizations, something that is unsurprising considering they are both part of the human race...

All the girls I know who say that consider me the exception, on account of helping them with stuff...
