THANK YOU. I just got into an argument with my girlfriend over this.

I don't care about these individual subjects. Any statement of "All of X is Y," or "All of X is better than Y." is inherently false.
did she call you an asshole for arguing over it?

yeah my old girlfriend used to say this a lot but it was usually when me or someone else (majority of it was me) was actually being assholeish

Surely some other escapists have run into girls like this. The ones who will make statements like "I wish we lived in a world where all guys werent complete fuckfaces". Even if they aren't necessarily (stereotypically) feminist, this just totally drives me insane. I don't want to say it's sexist, because I almost think they don't mean literally "all guys" when it's said, but it certainly comes out that way. Like if I said "I wish all women would stop being such dumb bitches", I'd probably be assaulted for it.

How much does this annoy others, if it does?
Question:

Why does the opinion of a random nobody who's clearly an idiot matter to you?
It's one of my buttons, simply put. It's not like I WANT it to matter, it just annoys me.

Believe me, I actively try to ignore it.

Most of my friends in high school were women. I heard that a lot. I'd usually glare quietly and wait for them to acknowledge that there was a male present who might have been offended. They rarely did.

Well I have mainly friends who are girls and have been around countless time when this has came up, and my only response when thy looked at me has been, "It's because of the minority of those guys that do this stuff, that guys like me get crap for."

What does that even mean? I like Grass, it's nice to lay down on; cool, fresh, relaxing. Is that a compliment?
It's a colloquialism based on the creation of mulch and fertilizer from lawn clippings. Essentially what it means is that someone's going to come by and take a lawn mower to your privates.

according to the female perspective, all guys ARE assholes. but to the male perspective all girls are batshit crazy, so why are we arguing?

It's probably more convincing to point that that pretty much all PEOPLE are assholes than to suggest that there is a reasonably proportion of the male population that aren't assholes, which obviously isn't true.

I usually take the opportunity to mock them or bring attention to what they are saying by switching "guys" with "girls".
... Thus proving their point by being an asshole, I guess. But it is good fun.

It doesn't really bother me any more than any other ridiculous blanket statement. Which is to say, it annoys me, but not particularily so.

Ok.. So, its the age old feminine mantra.. All guys are assholes.

Well women, its real simple, you are the only ones with the power to change that. Most men are sexually driven, and if being an asshole didnt work, they wouldnt do it. So you want men to stop being assholes, Stop putting out for assholes. Part of the price for being the gatekeepers of sex.

From what I've read from what various girls I know have forwarded me from txts, facebook/myspace, and just general arguments I've heard...

Guys are witless fucktards who don't seem to understand just how retarded they sound.

That said, the fact that I was reading these things that these girls were so willing to show off to try and insult the guys they supposedly liked (or at least liked at one point) shows just how flimsy and quick to completely change their mind the girls were.

So in short, gender wars are stupid, both sides act stupid when romance gets involved, but I'm certain there's someone out there who can handle it calmly, and in any case the insanity can be enjoyable once you get used to it.

unless the term "better" is well defined.
Or X = Y or X is a subset of Y. Or X can be empirically determined to be superior than Y.

I do know girls who have said this, sworn off guys, and turned lesbian. It is something I can only condone.

Hey, pretty much all women suck at sending signals that are easy to interpret. It's sad but true.
Women out there, if you like us, flirt. If you just want to be friends, don't act super nice and interested, because we think that means something more. :(
Adding to this: I would also like it if you didn't apply a stereotype that doesn't actually exist. When most girls find out I am a D&D player they apply the "nerd" stereotype to me which I don't even see a grain of truth in that. The people who fit the nerd stereotype are actually a narrow minority.

...And I'm the lawnmower? You've never heard this before?

I guess it's not too well known. "Your ass is grass and I'm the lawnmower."

It annoys me, but I tend to ignore it. One time I was talking to this girl who got into a fight with one of her guy friends and she started ranting to me about how all guys are assholes and that she wished she could just live without guys in her life and during the conversation she apparently realized that she was a lesbian and then afterwards thanked me for helping her realize this which caused me to have a reaction like "... what just happened?"

Well, unfortunately a lot of guys are assholes, I know I am surrounded by them. However I find if you aren't an asshole, girls like you a whole lot more.

It's not so much annoying from an average girl, I do know a few who I even think have the right to, being crushed so many times.

BUT, the thing that gets me riled up is when the super-popular-diva chicks say it. You know, those girls who are at the absolute top of the food chain and make absolutely zero effort to talk to or acknowledge anyone who isnt an alphamale-dirt bag? Yeah, I think you do.

As long as the term "superior" is well defined.

Well, yeah. You pretty much already said that XD.

And I had to try like eight times to spell "already". How sad.
