The following is an article about sores which have developed from using games consoles:

'PlayStation palmar hidradenitis'
hahaha they are trying to be scientific and it just sounds retarded.
Oh yeah, the dirl had a disease that formed those red lumbs, pretty sure it would have happened with every controller

Or she could have gone outside instead of playing games for hours on end. I do like the new conditions though; "PlayStation palmar hidradenitis" makes it sound like you were bitten by a vampiric playstation model(hint hint PS4)

She probably should've loosened her grip and this wouldn't have happened.
I second this. I find it funny that all of these people come out the woodwork after a few weeks with all sorts of controller related mishaps yet I've been using computers and consoles for years and I've never had more than a callous on my mouse wrist.

it is somewhat uncomfortable, but it's not the palms. the analogue sticks are bad because of the center rise (as opposed to the 360 controller's analogue, which is better).

I do agree that the 360 controller IS more comftorable in the hand. But Sony Needed to make the ps3 controller the way it was so people could fully utilize the six axis controls i believe.
Let me put it this way, i can't imagine trying to control a plane in warhawk with sixaxis using a 360 controller.

However, even if people still hold the 360 controller ovr the ps3, i've heard and seen of an adaptor for the ps3 that allows 360 controllers to connect to it.

In summation, controller preference in the end is purely opinional, the 360 controller is much more comftorable in the hand *sometimes i feel like my ps3 controller is going to slip out of my hands* and is probably more durable. However, The ps3's six axis inclusion, while normally poorly used in games, has made for some impressive nuances in games that i can't find anywhere else.

I've been playing video games for years and that has never happened to me. As it says its similar to a condition in the feet so why add Playstation and pretend its something new? Its because its one more thing that can be blamed on video games.

Meh, there's not really anything wrong with the Playstation controller once you get used to where each face button is located.

That is of course except for the fact that they haven't really changed the design of the bloody thing in 15 years. All they've really done is glued on extra bits, so the analog sticks are not comfortably placed. But I'd rather use the directional buttons for 2D games anyway, so I guess I should be thankful that I have the choice. I have a Wii and a PS2 so if a game was available on both PS2 and GameCube, I can decide what version I want based on whether it's a 2D or 3D game to coincide with the controller.

I just find it awkward playing games like Ratchet and Clank which are PS2 exclusives but fully in 3D. Using the directional buttons feels weird in such a game and to use the analog stick you have to reach down instead of letting your thumb rest naturally. It's not like this is a deal breaker on the system itself but it does mean that the GameCube and X-Box controllers were better for 80% of the games of that generation, with the exceptions being 2D fighters and anthologies of old school games. (Okay, well the original X-Box controller was about the size of a car, but it wasn't that bad once I stopped laughing at it).

Anyway, I'm guessing that since the current PS3 controller looks pretty much exactly the same as the PS2 controller, Sony either are convinced that the analog sticks they tacked on 12 years ago perfected the overall design of the controller, or they're afraid that by doing anything different at this point they'd scare away their fanboys.

I've yet to find a controller that IS comfortable, so I don't understand why you guys are making such a big deal about the PS3 controller not being ergonomically comfortable--especially when saying the 360's is better, because I've gotten much worse cramps from the short time my friends tried to get me to play Halo 3 and Castle Crashers than I've gotten from hours of playing games on my DS Lite.

What is that adapter? I'd like to use it.

The apart about 'Wiitis' made me grin.
This probably would have happened with any kind of controller, though I never experienced it myself even though I used to play hours and hours on end, with sweaty palms.

Buggered my right wrist on GT3 a few years back- I wore a brace for ages. It's much better but not the same as it was.

Using a steering wheel on driving games became a must after that. :)

There is a motion sensor chip for the X360 controller you can get. It works on the left analogue stick. I been thinking of getting it for finishing Ace Combat 6 and the new HAWX game. Should be fun.

Ooo, link please...

I have an official M$ wireless adapter donglethingy that allows me to connect my X360 controller, FF steering wheel and wireless headset to my PC- works fine even for retro games like Psychonauts. Dirt cheap too.

Come on guys, have you never kept playing even though your fingers were numb? My Gameboy used to give me numb pinkies all the time.

Fanboy behaviour, just report and move on.
That's a rather over-the-top reactionary remark. This could easily apply to any console controller.

It's also a bit of a ratbag suggestion to a gentle tease or joke. Do you go pushing the button on any thread that seems faintly anti-PS3? Been to any good old fashioned book-burnings lately lol?

PS: Yeah, you can report me for this if you like. The mods will read it and just laugh. :D
