I'm more annoyed than angry with these hackers; they stole money from me, and they've been taking away my enjoyment. Yet, I'm not gonna rage about it, it serves no point, and all I can do is wait for this to finish or for them to get caught or whatever. I hope they get punished or something, especially if they delay my DNF demo. It's just going too far, no matter the reason, be it trolling or trying to prove a point or whatever.

I want to be a hacker for the sole purpose of screwing these A-holes for making the rest of us having to deal with this BS. What a waste of talent that could be used to help instead of acting like some spoiled retard...

No, that's just disgusting... i'll make them were facial hair made out of their own pubes for the rest of their days.

It's just annoying! What did Sony do for this? (I'm not actually sure)
For the idea of punishment of the hackers in question, how about we just comb their pubes with a porcupine?

As for what Sony did, I can only speculate that it was either their perceived mis-management of the whole initial hack issue OR the issue of Sony's complete removal of the OtherOS function after they made that a known feature of the device. I'm more apt to say that it was more likely the latter of the two.

It's interesting how a lot of people posting here take some sort of moral high ground above the hackers while simultaneously stating that they should be brutally tortured

Damn it will I never access the PSN? They just need to stop its obnoxious they are running sony into the ground and annoying PS3 owners everywhere.
Which is the point

No, they're not running Sony into the ground. However they ARE annoying not only PS3 owners, but other people as well with this retarded stunt.
And if that's the point (which you're saying it is) then fuck their point. I'm not voting torture on these fuckers, I'm just hoping for regular jail time. That's when fun time kicks in.

And regarding the why about this whole thing the only thing I can say is who cares? Whatever the reason they've gone way beyond what's reasonable and that's just pathetic. Like the people doing this and the people supporting them.

Honestly, I don't know what they are trying to prove now. I guess hacking Sony really is the thing for hackers to do when they are bored and have nothing to do.

If only torture could be legalized.... Seriously these guys are doing this just to be as low as they can.
Wait, you want torture to be legalized to be used on Hackers? I mean, yeah what they're doing isn't cool, but there's a lot of other crap that I think is more deserving on the list of "things that you should be tortured for"
What, like owning a bank?

I have a PS3 but I never go online, but I know people who are, and they are getting incredibly pissed off. I don't even know why they are hacking in the first place. I am assuming it is for their own entertainment as if my friends catch hold of them they are willing to beat the daylights out of them.

Sony is a multi million dollar business. I doubt the entire company is going to shut down just cause you pulled the plug on some COD death matches and might have some personal information.

What are they even trying to do now? "Let us hack the PlayStation Network or we'll run your company into the ground"?
There are ways of persuading a company to modify its ToS, and this is certainly not one of them. Sony might eventually work out what's going on, and promise to change it...but the second they get their hands on the hackers, all their hard 'work' would have been for nothing, they'd be arrested and Sony would just delay changing their Terms of Service...and the hackers can shake their fists at them from their jail cells.

I don't really see the big deal with modifying consoles anyway. Amazing how upset people can get just because they can't use a browser of their choice. But, that said, I do think people should have the right to tinker with whatever electronics they can get their hands on. That's how things advance, y'know?

This is the most juvenile attempt at addressing a company's unethical actions that I've heard of in years.

If you don't like Sony's actions, do not buy their products and if asked, explain to others why you do not buy their products. Boycott their money sources, don't do illegal stuff that will just backfire and sacrifice the legitimacy of your cause.

And attacking the users as part of this was just cowardly, unnecessary and yes, it removed any "ethical" excuse in the eyes of the public for what's been done. If the personal information theft was by the same group of hackers, that is.

I wish they would try to hack XBL. not because microsoft deserve it more or something like that but if someone tried to hack microsoft they would nuke them, not literary (probably)

If someone hacked the XBL,Microsoft would invite him over give him free games and an XBOX and then hire him to work. There's a difference in how the 2 companies work and Microsoft actually learned something from the 90s.

God I hate hackers with a passion, especially when they take my PSN from me -.- I hope Sony find them and just destroy them, mentally and financially.

How do you figure that? Because you like them less? No, that's not how it works. They're pissed at Sony over the whole Install Other OS/"we still own your PS3 even after you buy it" thing. Microsoft isn't doing that, so they're not a target.

Plus, hoping that more people get fucked over like so many PSN users did pretty much means you're just as big a dick as all the PSN hackers are in the first place. Really, you want more innocent people to suffer just because you're a Sony fanboy? Truly pathetic. You should hope they get caught, not that they spread the suffering to even more people.
