Woah, are people even allowed to post such, khm, 'disgusting' (which is an understatement) pictures on here without getting atleat a probation?

And I played Half-Life 2 before 1, the two games don't have very much contuinity between them.

Wait for Black Mesa. Its gonna be HL1 with the HL2 graphics and physics engine.
already have a HL1 source

I suggest to just go see Freeman's Mind Episodes

its funny , and you get a idea of what the story was +/-

I played HL2 before 1, its really no issue
Half Life: Source is not the same as Black Mesa. The only imrpovement is better water and improved Physics. Black Mesa is a total remake from scratch on the Source Engine.

I'd say that there are a lot of stuff you should research like G-Man before playing: It will make more sense to You

I had the fortune to watch someone play Half Life as a Lad so I was aware of everything.

As I stated before, no it's not. It's a fan made version that's moving farther and farther from it's source material the more it's developed. It doesn't have the original soundtrack. It doesn't have the original voice work. It has an altered arsenal. It's even started to have altered maps and entire sections of the story taken out. The dialogue has also begun to be rewritten with different characters. So, if you really want to know what Half-Life 1 was like, the last thing you want to do is play Black Mesa. Just get the original game or the slight remake Half-Life: Source. You'd be doing yourself a disservice otherwise.

I actually have an interesting story about the fate of my Orange Box. I bought it last week, and got all the way to the midpoint of episode 2. When what should happen but my wonderful 360 eats the disc. Somehow, I was able to get it started and play through the rest of the game, (unfortunately with a graphical problem) and just after I finished the game froze. So no more replay of Portal, but the time I had cemented my belief that Half Life 2 and its episodes are the greatest thing in gaming.

I've never played Half-Life and I still understood the story. It's kind of confusing, sure, but thats deliberate. People think that Gordon has been though all the points up to this, so they don't bother explaining most of the time.

Anyway, buy the orange box and go crazy. I saw a copy for the 360 in game for £15 the other day. £15 pound for 5 genius games. It's probably the best bargain I have ever seen.

Coming from a guy who doesn't really like First Person Shooters at all, I gotta say that Half-Life 2 is one of the best games I have ever played. It's paced brilliantly, each scenario feels completely different but keeps the experiance cohesive so it still feels like you are playing in the same city.

Buy the Orange Box, it should cost all that much these days and considering the whopping amount of fantastic conent, it's a steal.

All I wanted to know from half life 1 is were the hell did those head crabs come from?
The dreaded resonance cascade thing-a-me. No doubt those crazies over at the LHC are currently planning their own inter-dimensional meltdown.

I'm stockpiling crowbars.
Oh god. Need. Ammo.

That's a really scary analogy.

i have never played the first game, but i still found HL2 wholly enjoyable, and besides, there is not as much story in the first one that you cannot find out about later in the 2nd, so its not neccessary to play Half-Life 1

What the hell would an Xbox need fiber for?

On second thought, maybe there would be less RRoDs if more Xbox's got their recommended amounts of fiber?

It needs fiber to do...stuff. Like patch games. And the RRoD is caused by a lack of fiber. I feed my 360 daily.

Daily? Wow, you must have a lot of discs to go through. I mean it's eating them like cake, providing it's not a lie...
