Really? They sell them on fancy dress sites, although getting black can be an issue, they just wanna sell you stuff with sequins on it. Bah Humbug!

Well, I asked people in the off-topic discussion forum for ideas, as I am sure you will have noticed that quite a few users on this site are rather clever and would be more likely give me ideas outside the witch, vampire, ghost, zombie, devil area.

Now, you seem a little negative. I think you should breathe in positivity, and breathe out negativity. Go on, you'd like it if you tried...

i) Zombie Schoolgirl: Old School Uniform, Facepaint, Tattered Bag, Stuffed Dog.
ii) Mexican Man: Facepaint, Sombrero, Old blanket you can cut a hole in
iii) Joan of Arc: Grey tracksuit, Wooden Sword, Old Sheet you can draw a heraldry design on

I forgot to mention, limited budget. All ive found were hats for like $100, or $5 plastic ones.

The headless horseman. You can make this costume yourself very easily. Here are my directions, message me if you want details.

Supplies:

Poster board

Black paint

Tape

Grim Reaper cloak with the one way black face mask

A cape of some sort.

Safety pins

Directions

Make a 5 sided box out of the poster board and tape, make sure every side (including the inside) is painted black. Make sure this box fits on, and stays on your shoulders. Now cut a hole in the front that you can see through. Put on the Grim Reaper cloak, then put the box on your shoulders. Now attach the cape over the box so it drapes over the front corners. Attach with safety pins. If you attached the cape right, it should appear as if you are a man in black, wearing a cape, with no head. The illusion is startlingly good. I've used this as my costume for a while now.

You could go in drag. Go as a lumberjack, or a fat plumber with a fake ass crack or something like that. Go as the bearded lady maybe. Turn of the century circus freaks are always cool, and somewhat creepy.
