Short and simple - Yes or No and why!

Personally, I think I just scared the neighbors after screaming in excitement! It is one of my all time favorite games!

Probably not because I never bothered to connect my Xbox online. I think the last and final game I will get for it is Gears of War 3.

Not the online, the campaign. Halo:CE's story was one of the best I've played. I wont be buying it for MP - I'll be buying it for replaying my all time favorite story mode in HD!

Not a chance in hell. Remakes are the death of creativity. It even looked terrible by current standards so the updated graphics draw does not fly.

I love Halo: CE, but honestly, this game isn't that old and more importantly still had a new game in the series released last year. Reserve the effort that goes into making remakes for games like Psychonauts, games that are both old(ish) and deserve a boost in exposure.

No. Because the very thought of buying something that has no change other than "looks nice on my HDTV" almost makes me ill.

CE was a great game, but HD isn't enough for me to buy it again. I'm pretty sure it's in my cupboard somewhere for my PC. I could always just play it again. I just have a serious issue with HD remakes in general (as in they're a waste of time and money). But that's me. Sorry to be a buzzkill.

Not a buzz kill at all, everyone has their own opinion! I'm just one of those Halo fans who thought the new additions were, average at best and LOOOOOVED the Combat evolved!

Yes because i'm sure it will give some nostalgia benefits, and bring it to a younger generation that haven't played it yet.

No because it's a huge waste of cash to improve the graphics of a game that didn't look bad in the first place. In fact, I still think it looks fairly decent.

I still don't get why they...well I can't say got it wrong after CE, but they couldn't recapture what made the original so good. When I was escaping the enemy complex on a Warthog, that felt bloody epic.

But now? I dunno...

Psh, I've already had the HD version. It's called the PC version :p

But seriously, you can do it manually on old pc games, I made Deus Ex 2 16:9 1980x1080 without distortion. Though I will consider getting it one more time in HD that doesn't require my own alterations.

Same for me, Halo: CE was, IMO, the best Halo game made.

It's the same with most sequels, once that "Original magic" is gone, it takes something special to make it better again. I think the other games were good but they just didn't have the same feel. I remember co-oping the last level on legendary and it was one of the most awesome gaming experiences EVER! The music, the setting and just the feel blew me away!

I like what they did with the end of Halo 3 it was a nice addition and made me feel a small tingle of excitement at the end.

Well it's an easy way to squeeze some money out of the fanbase without much work, I'm not a Halo guy tho so I care not.

But that's not the only reason.
HD? Yes.
Also: XBL support and online co-op.

Yeah, you can go back and play Halo 1 again 'as is'. But only the singleplayer.
This revives the online and brings it into today, with full XBL support.

That's freaking awesome.

It didn't look as good as I thought it would, they Reach-ified it a bit too much for me.

The release date is quite unfortunate as well, since it's a week after Modern Warfare 3. I might still pick it up for multiplayer if Modern Warfare 3 MP blows as bad as I think it will.

NO! No remakes EVER AGAIN! This is even worse than the sequel-virus!

If a game was good, it will 'always' be good. The graphical prowess with witch it is delivered do not define the quality of the game. The opposite is just as true --> A bad game will never be a good game just because it's now in HD or whatever. And the main point is, why do a remake if you can be creative and create something new?!? Scary, i know! You may fail, i know! But you will get more respect for trying than conforming to the 'Let's make it HD, it can't fail!' crowd.

edit: Even with the added functionality the remake may bring, it still is a weak bid imo.
