I've gone through halo 1 campaign over 10 times and i still see new things. Ive been playing halo pc online since its release and some things still surprise me. Halo was the first game to put everything together too (second button nades, second button melee, excellent vehicles, intelligent ai, large open landscapes and most importantly freedom). I went through half life 2 and i could barely get through due to overwhelming boredom. Sure the graphics are great but doing the same thing over and over again with not many options to go about the situation and in the same environment for long periods of time, is not my idea of fun. Also many people claim that halo copied off all these great games, but they never say which games they are. Halo was definiatly the first of its kind.

1 Point is awarded to Saskwach.

A bonus point is awarded for the wonderful irony of someone named "Saskwach" pointing out a well-placed spelling error. (Yes, I'm aware it was an intentional spelling of a User Name, but it makes me giggle, so hush.)

Call me crazy, but I enjoyed the single player immensely, put forth the effort to beat it all on legendary, which was a blast. Hunting down all the skulls was fun, and finding those few easter eggs was great. I still regularly visit the campaign, especially for the co-op.

On a side note, we need more FPS games with 4 player co-op.

alien vs predator, half life and metroid art style in a bad combination? hahaha nice way to describe halo, well... i just played the 1 in pc and it wasnt bad, itwasnt so fun like half life for me but it wasnt bad, except by the library with all those flood.

also there where some levels like the covenant ship that i didnt dont like because those monotonic hallways where you get lost so easyly and those textures that looks like shiny plastic for cheap mattel toys

Do we really need another Halo topic? There should be a ban on those topics unless it's about something interesting.

I liked Halo 3 single player way more than Halo 2 single player and I actually like the storyline, I don't care what anybody else says.

People keep saying we don't need another Halo 3 love/hate thread. It appears to me that this is not what this is about. It looks like a review to me. And an above average one too.

I don't think he should be told to shut up either. Although I won't pull out the ol' you-didn't-have-to-read-this excuse, because the title is 'this needs to be said' which makes it seem important.

I won't make any judgments on the game, seeing how I've only played enough of it to walk into a wall twice and get shot four times, but the things I've heard have been extremely polar. Some say it's awesome (and not all of them are fanboys) and some say it's dreadful. Honestly, I don't think it's the most pressing topic.

Minus one point, crochet is closer to knitting :)

Excuse my woolly thinking!

Well, love it or hate it, you have to admit that no other game has caused this much coversation.

That being said, why the hell do you feel that you had to make this thread? Everything you have up there has been said a dozen times over already, and besides, do you really think that you're going to convince anybody that likes that game that it is "Contrived, trite, and utterly pointless"?

Look, I like the game, I do not agree with anything you said. And I'm not alone, just look at the sales and reviews for the blasted game. But, I understand there are people that do not share my oppinion, and I'm fine with that. So, I'm asking all the haters that keep posting repetitive threads like this, and to all the fanboys that have put up fellatio threads for the game (even though I've never seen one, in the sence of fair play I'll include them),

Please. Please. PLEASE.

Stop.
Making.
These.
Threads.

Nobody cares, and all they do is piss people off.

Too true.

But as for the review i can tell 8,000,000,000 things from it.
1 you never played the hard settings.
2 your a fanboy.
3 you dont have live.
4 you want to piss people off.

Most importantly it does not "need to be said" BECAUSE ITS BEEN SAID OVER A MILLION TIMES!

Since I've only owned it for about three days I've only had time to get fairly far on Heroic, after beating Normal. But the thing is, Normal difficulty is just that--NORMAL. It shouldn't be too easy, it shouldn't be too hard. And while there were parts that were fairly difficult, the point I was making was that the Brutes are a lot easier to deal with than the Elites, because they are infinately more predictable, and also lack a lot of the nifty things that the Elites could throw at you.

I don't see how I am a fanboy, considering I don't think I support anything specifically in the review. If I was a fanboy, wouldn't I absolutely LOVE Halo 3 a whole huggy bunch? I mean, I did mention that I liked Halo 1 and 2--Oh my god! I actually liked other games in the series!? Oh no! Clearly, I *am* a fanboy. Gee. I should just kill myself, now shouldn't I?

As for my not having live, you are right. I don't have life. However, I'm not that upset because from all I've seen of Live, it's populated by a bunch of assholes who do nothing *but* play Halo 3 from dusk till dawn, thus transforming themselves into a bunch of retarded, racist Halo freaks who can kill you with anything they are holding without any effort because they have memorized every map everywhere everyway. Sorry about not including that aspect into my review, but I didn't want to be COMPLETELY negative.

Now, do I want to piss people off? Well, that depends. I want to piss *stupid* people off.

Because I hate them.

A lot.

You're entitled to your opinion, and indeed I don't entirely disagree with some of your points. However, the drama-queen attitude of the review and the deliberate attempts to inflame the discussion leave me disinclined to spend any effort comparing views as I feel the effort would be wasted.

It must be difficult to live with such self-hatred.

I'll feed the troll and simply point out that posting this with the intent of pissing people off (no matter their intelligence level) is a really poor idea.
