Ppl who know my opinion might be suprised with what I'v got to say about ODST, I think its a decent idea and I dont mind as long as its not to expencive. To me Halo has run its course and should be left as a pop relic after ODST, Bungie should do somthing else, I heard they made an RPG once but i dnt know mutch about it. In the unliky event in whitch there are bungie employes reading this then take heed, Halo is over, make somthing else like an FPS-RPG or a hack an slash or somthing, just somthing else.
Well, as far as Expense goes, it'll be the same as all other games. $60. Which isn't TOO bad...They might have a specialty "collectors" set for $10 or $15 extra but no one's making you buy the collectors right? I think $60 is reasonable.
I dont know about $ I'm in scotland we use £ and after the econamy thing I dont know $-£ or vise versa.

Ah well ok. I don't really know what the Dollar to Euros thing is either. But the ratio would be about the same worth wouldn't it?

As for the quality of Campaign and Multiplayer...we'll just have to see. It wouldn't be right to compare Halo: ODST with Halo 2 and 3 because the game is going to have to switched around completely since we have a new character without godliness. One thing I'm hoping for is they don't have vehicles. Playing COD: WaW is soooooo irritating getting blown to bits by Tiger and T-34 tanks...makes me FFFFFFFFF. Same in Halo. Get some guy that loves sniping in a scorpion and it's like MP gode mode.
On the one map that has Scorpions?

ODST will have Halo 3 multiplayer anyway, you'll even play with the same people (ie someone who has Halo 3 can play with someone who has ODST).

I do care about the expansion, like others mentioned, I'm looking forward to playing someone other than Master Chief, or an Elite who has equivalent shields/strength. I look forward to the more tactical combat in the campaign and sort of wish there would be an option to play as an ODST in multiplayer, maybe another gamemode like Swat or MLG playlists with the option to have silenced weapons and the recon view.

Also, I am looking forward to the recon armor finally being released, not because I want it, but because I will finally be able to play the game without recent players sending me screenshots of it. I've heard they are fake or some sort of vulgarity made in forge from other people, I've never cared enough to even view one. It just annoys me that I keep getting that message.

This has been bugging me for quite a while. When I saw the original teaser that Bungie released I have to admit I was intrigued. But when the full trailer was released I can't say I was excited. I just didn't see the point in it. It seems that Bungie are pulling a George Lucas and trying to fill in the gap between the ending of Halo 2 and the start of Halo 3. But does anybody actually care what happened?

While I agree it would be interesting to see the Covenant invasion of Earth from a perspective of someone other than an eight foot tall walking tank. Sorry to reference George Lucas again but The Force Unleashed story wasn't exactly ground breaking. As soon as you saw the Rebel insignia on a flag at the start of the game, on the main characters home no less, I think most people guessed what was going to happen. But anyway, I've been rambling for too long. Let's hear your views.

who cares about in between Halo 2 and 3. The chief was on the ship - then he was found in the forest by the marines

BUT I WILL PLAY IT BECAUSE I LOVE HALO

I mean why not - Halo 1/2/3 was awesome why wouldn't an expansion be awesome

Here we are, the game is set in an open world hub and you go to four different beacons and play out 4 different memories about the invasion.

Did you even read the article? He specifically said there's more than four beacons which you explore in any order you like (the game being semi-open world), and the word memory appears nowhere.

I read the Game Informer piece, not this one, I just linked to it because it had plot in the tags. As he said in the interview, the Game Informer article had a misprint.

I realize I didn't notice the change but there's no reason to be a pedant about something that small.

I like that you're gonna play as someone OTHER than the raep-everything Master Chief. Invincible Human walking tank with practically one hit kill God mode powers.
Erm, try increasing the difficulty some? Easy's great and all, but if you're going to complain about it being easy, then try Legendary, and watch a grunt kick your ass. After all, that's what difficulty levels are for.

In some ways I feel sorry for Bungie, the slaves of Microsoft, forced to make Halo games forever...someone should start a 'Free Bungie' campaign.

I did play legendary. Look at my Gamercard achievements and I have all of the campaign stuff. Truth be told, legendary was not that hard IMO. Oh, and before you ask, I did the campaign by myself. Yes, it was more difficult than Easy, Norma, Heroic, but not that hard. I thought Heroic on Halo 1 & 2 was much hard because the Elites AI seemed more organized than the Brutes for Halo 3. Elites would seemingly flank while the brutes would stare blankly and be like "Durr where'd that come from" and proceed to stand there while i shoot them. But yeah, I just didn't think it was that hard.

And a grunt came no where near my ass ;P

If its cutscenes is like its actual graphics, instant buy, however I hope they drill it more into us, and show some gameplay. I heard open world map, I hope they make it good, like Fallout 3, where you have to scavange supplies etc. Find survivors resue them or use them, maybe a camo by the Chief, but only a reference to a 1-2 minute back to back fighting with him.

I just hope the cheif isn't like me who finds his lessors to be a pain and the ass and plasmas them at first oppurtunity for fun.

It looks interesting. Since you're not a supersoldier anymore, you have to use stealth. I imagine lives will make a comeback too. Regenerating health is better for multiplayer though.
Well, I disagree with you there. I personally hate the lives system. Very bad experience with Crash games with lives. I think having few and far between checkpoints would be punishment enough for dieing.
Having a bad experience with the lives system in one instance doesn't mean we should trash it for every other game. Halo: Combat Evolved 's lives system was close to perfect in the campaign.

Lives are great to introduce survivalism in games. Would left for dead be as fun if health regenerated? The only situation where you cannot have lives is in player-versus-player multiplayer games/gametypes.
Er, I dont think we're on the same page here. A Lives system is like in pac man where you die three times (because you have three lives) and the game is over, but I think what you mean is the Health bar.

Health bar is ENTIRELY different. As you take damage the health bar goes down and when the bar is empty you die. In Halo you have the regenating shield (which is also a health bar, so to speak) and then the Health bar for the Chief. Left 4 Dead uses Health bar as well, and it's also accompanyed by a percentage.

I agree with you that the Health bar shouldn't be abolished, but the Lives system (three strikes you're out) is not ideal for a shooter game like Left 4 dead, The Halo Series, or Halo: ODST. Health bar and Lives are totally different concepts.

If it was going to be free DLC I might care more.

Halo is fun, but not worth paying for additional content kind of fun.
