Master Chief: The Early Years.
With an A.I that's almost but not quite Cortana? And a young Private Johnson?

Cortana was Master Chief's only A.I, Cortana was created in the image of the creator of the spartan project, Dr. Halsey.

Master Chief's early years were in the Fall of Reach novel. As for Johnson, theres not a whole lot of information on him.

It is theroretically sound. How ever i dont think it would be in the best intrest of the series.

At this point that might ass well mate him with samus and see what alien killing crotch fruit comes out. No Im not serious about it btu the idea made me laugh so i had to place it out there

Bungie did leave a big cliffhanger at the end of Halo 3, but there will likely not be a Halo 4. Like people have already said, they may make a spin off and introduce a new storyline and plot after Halo 3's story.

Another game is being made however, but not by Bungie. Halo Wars, an RTS game from Ensemble Studios. Halo Wars follows the storyline before the first halo game, when the UNSC first made contact with the Covenant.

There is no set release date on the game yet, hopefully sooner than later!

There will most definetly be a halo 4. Now, it might not be called that directly, but Frank O' Connor has made the move from bungie over to Microsoft studio's to oversee Gearboxes work on the new title. Also, Bungie has hinted on their website enough that it is in the works. Like all developers, Bungie finished the third game, and probably out of pure exhaustion claimed this was the be all to end all for them and halo. Kind of like you might do after a long night of drinking, when you wake up with a nasty hangover and shout "never again". But just like that, bungie probably sobered up half a year later, and realized that they actually enjoy working on halo games. It's an inevitable possibility. The guy's at Bungie actively support a thriving community, all of whom want another halo game. It would take an amazing amount of willpower to ignore the cries of your fan's, and microsofts money.

That being said, who said it had to be a direct continuation of the story. I always hoped halo would shed the petty diatribes and "Story", in favour of a more pure multiplayer experience. Massive maps, pile's of vehicles, large servers, an armoury of alternative armour types, and an in depth stat tracker that mirrors the way CoD4 had me coming back for more, without actually just ripping them off.

No. There won't be. It's been clearly stated over and over again that the Halo series was gonna be a trilogy.

However, it's been said that the Marathon series may be brought back, featuring Master Chief. It was hinted at the end of Halo 3 when Master Chief and Cortana were floating towards a metallic planet.

Bungie did say there wouldn't be a Halo 4 and the tag line "Finish the fight" would be rather pointless if the fight wasn't finished. What i could see them doing is branching off with other things in the Halo universe, be it marines, elites, Spartan 3's or the remaining Spartan 2's
I call it now, that tagline will "someday" become a "Oh, we only meant 'finish the fight' with the Covenant, not the other super race that master chief must kill!!"

"In an interview shot for MTV News on Tuesday, Microsoft?s head of Xbox business Don Mattrick, confirmed to me that Bungie is indeed working on a new ?Halo? game of some sort for Microsoft."

This was posted last wednesday on some multiplayer portion of MTV's website.

Now, I don't know what "of some sort" means, but thats just trivial at this point. Gearbox is making a halo game, peter jackson is making a halo game, ensemble studios is making halo wars, and bungie has something all of it's own. "Finish the Fight" was a lie, a cheap slogan meant to inspire you before you trekked back into the fray with a familiar foe. That foe is gone now, things have changed, the song remains the same. There are for Halo games coming, and with that, I think it's safe to say we have a franchise that is indeed here to stay.

Fuckwits on xbl need another halo game. Seriously halos, and gears are the only thing really keeping microsoft afloat. Fable 2 is great but its going to be underhyped i'm guessing.

I wouldn't be surprised if they made something similar to a Halo 4 and then say "We want to enrich the experience for all players. We want the casual players to be able to pick up and play while also challenging the hardcore players. We want to stay true to the Halo formula while also innovating," and a bunch of other shit that will just prove even more that Bungie and MS/M$ are in it for the money.

But if there was a Halo 4 i'd assume it would either be a spiritual successor to the Halo serieses or something else.

The Covenant is finished. The Flood is dead. A Halo 4? Can't happen. A Halo Prequel? Possibly.
The Nazi's are finished, and Japanese have surrendered. Another War? Can't happen.
Here's a possibility. With the Covenant disbanded, human and elite relations begin their first fragile negotiations. Something goes wrong, and the humans fight the elites again. Or, humans star fighting other humans, and the elites break off contact to avoid needless war. Or, one flood spore survives, and the whole ordeal happens all over again, minus the millenia old fail safe built in as an easy finisher. My point being, theres a million different ways to keep master chief fighting. They could even make up a whole new alien race if they saw fit.

Stubee, I think MGS4 was pretty desperately needed to wrap up the story, though I agree with most of your other franchises on there.

As for Halo 4? Almost definitely will happen, the story way have been wrapped up but that won't stop Microsoft/Bungie wanting to take another swipe at the mediocre cash cow fest that is Halo.

We already know a new game is in the works from Bungie, as their announcement was botched because of M$oft (Which undoubtedly pissed of untold millions of Halo fanboys whilst billions of others could give a rats ass)

As for the new game's content? Well who really knows. It could be Halo related, though I'm sure MC is out of the picture. Will it follow ODST's? Will a new enemy be created? Will the forerunners suddenly come back and become the new enemy? Will it even be Halo related because Bungie doesn't have to make it Halo even if they still have rights over the Halo franchise to some degree...

Out of sheer boredom I recently beat Halo3 on Legendary, so I'm kinda Halo'd out for the time being. I'm not a massive fan (The XBL community killed it for me.) So if another "Halo" is in the works, it's not going to be something I jump up to buy
