This. "Milking a franchise" doesn't have to have a negative connotation. Each Halo game, while keeping to the same core gameplay, has looked aesthetically different and added to the Halo universe. Halo 4 already looks a lot different so far, just look at the Chief, and since it's only Cortana and him in the far reaches of space, it will be a new experience.

i dont see why people have a problem with sequels. the halo story is extremely large. If you were to compare the books to the games then halo still has another decade to go. they never made a game for contact harvest and i assume this next game is going to be similar to ghost of onyx. i wouldnt say they are milking the halo universe(then again ive been a fan since 2000), but hell dont stop making a game thats still fun to play, keep them coming.

Not only am I far from dissapointed that there's going to be another milking of the Halo franchise, I'm looking forward to it. I had great fun with Reach, the little tweaks like the new feel of weapons meant that I had more fun with the game than any of the others before it. And if you follow all of the story behind Halo, more than the "here aliens, shoot them" that you need to get through it's actually very deep and pretty well told.

So hey, if you don't like Halo, protest against it by not opening your wallet for it. As for me, I'll be having more fun on launch day than you are.

Too many assumptions here, but lets just say they do start milking Halo. Most Mario Games are still high quality. Even if they are milking the series, Halo, just like Mario, didn't have this deep story that could be ruined, and I was kinda confused as to why the other what 4 rings just don't matter after the end of Halo 3.

Also am I the only one who wants Halo Golf and Halo Kart.

I don't really like Halo and I don't own an x-box. But hey if people have fun with then why not. The ending of Halo 3 made it clear that a follow up was totally possible. That being said if they don't make Halo 4 and so on better than previous games then I believe it deserves all the hatred. But for now let's just wait till it comes on so we can all complain and rant about it all over again.

Really, though, I feel bad for milk. Milk is such a wonderful, lifebringing substance that has benefitted a majority of world cultures. Milking should have positive connotations.

But as has been said before, if its a decent game, complaining because it comes out too soon in your personal opinion is absolutely ludicrous.

This, too. If the fans enjoy it, and there's enough money from fans having fun to keep making them, then what's the problem? I mean, Sonic adventure games weren't that great of games, and age has done nothing to benefit them. But if people enjoy Sonic, then they can still have a blast. Reviewers still recommend them if anyone has an interest in the Sonic franchise. Now, games like Sonic '06 were horrible bastardizations of the video game genre and people have reason to complain about them. If Halo 4 turns out as bad as this game, then by all means, people can complain about how its heartless profiteering.
But the kicker? Halo 4 isn't out yet. We can't know.

So the OP is coming off as a giant troll, and yet he refuses to admit how biased he is.

I hate it when people make threads to bash games, and they don't even have the decency to get the facts right.

It isn't a yearly span between games, and to assume it will be in the future is just dumb.

As to why Halo is hetting more games, it's because Halo games kick ass. We have known for years that that Halo would continue after Bungie left. This shouldn't be a surprise.

OT: Personally there is a big enough difference in settings, missions, weapons and general combat to make it worthwhile. I will wait for reviews and it'll be interesting to see where the Halo series goes without Bungie.

The halo seriese isnt being milked. it's a story, you dont stop half way through while your protagonist is drifting in space. i would hardly think that explaining how the hero got home is milking it. if it were realy a crime to make a 4th installment of the origanal game, then go make a thread for resident evil or god forbid dynasty warriors.
