I'm actually tired of Halo. If Bungie wants to advance a story for a previous game, I think the have better options. I say, let a good thing die before it turns into something terrible (for lack of a better metaphor).

I'd much rather have Bungie make a new Oni game.

Truth be told, so do I... though Take 2 holds the rights to Oni the same way that Microsoft now owns the rights to Halo.

If I had my 'druthers, Bungie's Next Project™ would be an entirely new franchise and maybe even new genre other than FPS. However I can't see Microsoft letting a billion-dollar series lie fallow for long... and if anybody is going to monkey with Halo, I guess it might as well be the guys who made it in the first place.

was anybody else underwhelmed by Halo Wars?

i mean it's an RTS game with 2 factions. i get the feeling that they thought the detail of Halo was robust enough to create an RTS game from it.

There's rumblings that the Flood will be in it too, for multiplayer if not in the storyline. If the Flood are in the storyline that may lead to, er, continuity problems shall we say... as the game takes place some twenty years before Humanity even learns of its existance. Though I suppose you *could* find Flood in the game's story, but just not live long enough to tell anyone on Earth...

Halo Wars is dumb. We've already played it. It was called Star Craft.

When will it end!
Haiku are 17 syllables.

5-7-5, not 4-7-4 ;).
haikus are easy
but sometimes they don't make sense
refrigerator

I have a question for all you people complaining about another halo game
If you don't like them, and you're not forced to buy it, why do you care?

Hold on a god damn second.

So we've got the plucky humans with their tanks and jeeps. We've got the noble religious aliens with their hover crafts and plasma swords and we've got the evil aliens that use other species to breed and try to take over the universe at the command of a giant hivemind.

Seriously.

OK OK I've been reading this and have come up with these points:

> Another HALO game is no surprise considering Microsoft finally has a franchise for it to milk in the gaming industry. No point complaining, as Nintendo have been doing it successfully for more than twenty years.

> Halo Wars is not in cannon. This has been stated several times by various people involved with it (and anyone who recognized the big mistake in the first teaser trailer). Any continuity would be solely race/class history.

> Bungie will make another HALO game but don't expect it to be what you are used to.

> HALO was originally going to be an RTS but they decided to change it to an FPS for some reason, probably to fit in more with the console demographics.

> Peter Jackson is God.

I'm pretty sure they couldn't have made Halo an RTS because of the aformentioned similarity to a certain other RTS which features 3 playable races.

Can't say I'm super stoked about getting Flood rushed.

every time Microsoft or bungi mentions halo fanboys salivate
Perhaps, but at least that beats the haterz's barking and peeing on the carpet. (I'm certain that everyone would prefer "playing dead" as the conditioned response.)

I'd rather another Oni game, but I'm a Halo fan so I'm not fussed either way, I've liked almost everything else Bungie have done, out of the ones I've played at least.

I have to agree with X360 the magazine:

"Finish the fight? Yawn, why bother..."

"The final game in the trilogy whose tagline shoule be: "breeding loudmouthed teenagers with too much time on their hands since '07"".

"[Insert Master Chief picture] The Chief in all his green soulless glory. Typical American fantasy."

I haven't played it's predecessors but Halo 3 for me wasn't that great, I found Call of Duty 4's single player campaign and multiplayer a lot more polished and heads and shoulders above Halo 3.
