"New trilogy? Aw, they wouldn't announce a new Halo trilogy. Damn."

*muffled noises*

"Well, this is interesting."

*muffled I NEED YOU!*

"Wait... (remembers "Wake me when you need me.") ... no way."

"WAKE UP, JOHN!"

"HOLY SHIT YES."

And then I came a little.

You two are way to pessimistic.
You need to see Yahtzees E3 hype episode, because he's right. You wont be disappointed if you assume that it's going to turn out to be a piece of shit. If it does turn out to be good, then great. Happy days.

I hated that they lead it off with something about the start of a new trilogy.

Meaning there's going to be a Halo 5 and a Halo 6.

It just got stale after 2 in my mind.

I was pretty happy when I saw the news post and story on here, started watching the trailor and it looked good, then the "I need you. Wake up John!" line came along and I pretty much sat through the rest grinning like a madmad shouting "Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit!"

There may have been one or two "Holy fuck!"s in there too. Variation's cool.

I wasn't excited or disappointed. We knew this was coming and the trailer wasn't very impressive and didn't reveal much that I was interested in. Also weird ass beginning sequence with waking up master chief.

ALso again (now that I'm thinking about it so much)

I hope cortana calling master chief "Jhoeoeeouueuueuen" doesn't keep up

HE'S MASTER CHEIF DAMNIT!!

I can't wait, that day was gonna be another boring day when i woke up. Then just before work, my mate told me about the Halo 4 reveal. Made work so much easier that day!

Halo ended with Halo 2 for me, I'm pretty most other people are done with the series too at this point. The character beating the dead horse in one of Yahtzee's reviews comes to mind.

Yahtzee also makes his money by having scripted embolisms, which...if...or when...more like if, he gets around to reviewing it, he'll just post another joke saying "remamber my review of 'Space Marine Saves Humanity Sequel 3499482750457 1/3?'? GO WATCH THAT YA TARD TWAT" or some variation thereof.
I simply used it as an example, but it doesn't change the fact that it can work. All those people who were super hyped for Duke Nukem Forever might get a unpleasant surprise. Doesn't apply to just games either.

I enjoyed the Halo series, but i'm not a big shooter fan. I'll rent it or buy it second hand eventually. I expect at least another 4 games in the series.
This was my exact response. "Meh."

To be honest i was more excited about the Tomb Raider reboot than Halo 4.

That's not an insult by the way, the new Tomb Raider looks awesome... -_-

I'm pretty sure 343 Industries is a branch from Bungie...
It is.
No, there are people from bungie in 343, but only 'cause they want to continue Halo, Bungie and 343 are two diffrent company's

In other news, after the release of Halo 6, the 343 headquarters building has reportedly exploded from money piling inside.

i personally am glad bungie arent doing it because it proves to me that they are better than activision and infinity ward and go on to new projects though a particular series may be doing well and dont just stick to it making minor graphical changes with little to no content changed just for a few extra bucks. Though i cant say the same for microsoft. halo to me was good to be left at reach and the next game will be like COD to me and wont have any appeal.

I hate Yahtzee and his pessimism. So no. I don't need to act like I'm not excited for something in order to protect myself.

And that's where Yahtzee's wrong. Dead wrong.

You can still remain un-disappointed if you have no expectations at all. Why is that better? Because then you don't end up on message forums arguing with someone else because you think their must-have game is crap. Win-win for both parties.

Indifference > Pessimism.
I never said it was crap, I just don't think it's going to be much better than what the series has had to offer up till now. If he's excited for it, good for him. Since he asked for OUR reactions, I felt that the game isn't going to offer much aside from adding another title to the list and Microsoft to rake in more cash. Once you add jetpacks....what else?

People are hating it and saying they are milking it before a single bit of gameplay has been released. I was overjoyed because halo is the only non-realistic shooter franchise that is still alive (Duke nukem and bullet storm excluded). even games like crysis 2 and killzone 3 have done the realistic path rather than the unrealistic (fun) path. I only wish they brought it to the PC, especially with games like MW3 and BF3 (wich looks great) will just be more realistic shooting. I have hopes for BF3 as long as the campaign is good and it has lan but how many shooters are there like BF3 (at least 20) while I can not think of one like halo.

I started out being very skeptical of it all. Why start another trilogy? I sense a Star Wars-like downward spiral as we hit 4, 5, and 6.

Then I said to myself: "It's Halo. You loved the last 6 games (Halo Wars counts) and you've become a diehard fan. So what if it's not Bungie? It's still going to be one hell of a ride."

Now I want to pre-order the Ludicrous Edition. I just hope Marty is still part of the Audio team for the Second Half.

I don't know how to feel about this. For one thing I thought the way Halo 3 ended was perfect and poetic and wrapped up events quite nicely. The Covenant is defeated, the Ark and the Halo rings destroyed, the Flood is gone and the humans and elites are now allies and the Masterchief goes back into storage again.
There wasn't really much of a story left to tell by this point.

Maybe a whole new story in a whole new galaxy might be cool, but in the meantime I'm not sure how to feel about this. I'm not going to yell about how it's being milked nor am I going to yell that it's trying to rape my nostalgia, it could be good. There could be a great story and great action in there, but for now I'm on the fence.
