Halo 5: Not Even Trying At This Point.

Halo 5: No Like Seriously one of the Guys Writing The Plot Is A Hobo We Picked Up From The Streets. We're Pretty Sure He's Schizophrenic. It's Fucking Hilarious.

Halo 5: I Bet we Could Make the Main Antagonist a Duck and You'd Still Buy It. You Know What Fuck it, That's the DLC.

I think what Microsoft and 343 Studios should do is wait a decade and release Halo 5 but call it Halo 5.5 or Halo 6 with little to no marketing. That way people will be wondering when Halo 5 was released and how they missed it.

Another thing they could do is call it Halo 3.14.

I think this is all a ruse to disguise the real title. We all know it will be called Parappa the Rapper 3: Rapster Chief.

So sad this didn't actually happen, it would have been awesome.

Anyways, wonder if we'll ever see them expand on the space combat bit in reach, i can take it or leave it when it comes to making grunts heads explode like party poppers. But i could see myself getting into Halo again if they switched it up a little bit and gave me a decent space combat games, come on we've already had a console RTS, its not like you can find a much worse idea than that.

Halo 5: Combat regressed. Introduces time travel and is set when the ForeRunners were still en masse. He teams up with a younger, more handsome Prophet of Truth and kicks some ass!

Or something? I know fuck all about Halo's world and storyline een though I've played all the games.

But Halo 5 does sound bland, why not Halo: Square root of (6*5-5)?

That would be a definite turn off for the fratboy demographic they're targeting, though.
It would appeal to the parents instead. Oooh, this looks educational, could this be one of those games that schools use to get better results? [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.827312-Schools-Are-Setting-Videogames-as-Required-Coursework] I must buy this for my litte sweetie!

...or maybe not >.>

The pseudo-intellectual dudebros would get confused too. "Halo.. 0? ..So it's a prequel then?"

I dunno, the parents who are able to solve this (and I'm hoping it's all of them, really) would hopefully do some research on the franchise and see that it's not for their little sweetie. Then again, what do I know?

Halo 5 is the second installment to the 343 Industries Halo Series.

5 + 2 = 7. Caught you out 343, and there I was thinking you'd dropped all of your Bungie roots!

In all seriousness, I thought it was pretty obvious, though I'm still baffled by the fact that Halo 4 is called Halo 4 what with it's new story n' all, they should just go down the Silent Hill route of putting on an extra name (Origins, Homecoming, Shattered Memories, Downpour).

Kinda bigger news if you think about it. GTA, Assassin's Creed, Devil May Cry, Call of Duty and many others follow untraditional numbering methods. Also Street Fighter, the worst offender of them all. Most consider Street Fighter II as its own game series instead of just the second Street Fighter.

Wasn't the original street fighter called Fighting street ? And no one played it? SF2 deserves to be it's own game series.

Actually, this is news. This means they aren't going the Bungie route of varying it up with things like ODST and Reach, or even Halo Wars, but just continuing with what made money last.

Since it hasn't been brought up yet, I'm gonna have to go with what I thought it was: "Master Chief and Friends Superstar Adventures in Dreamland." From Microsoft's Nintendo branch :p

In other words, we've confirmed Microsoft can count to five. Big whoop.

I mean, is anyone surprised by this? Really?

Halo is one of Microsoft's biggest franchises. Why on earth would they NOT make Halo 5, especially when they're REALLY REALLY gonna need system sellers.

It's like being surprised that Nintendo is making another Smash Bros game for the WiiU.
