IMO it is very well balanced. I haven't ever found one team winning more than the other, and every time I've had a losing streak (frustrating as it may be) it's been because my team was not as well coordinated as the enemy.Geo Da Sponge said:I must stop playing Invasion mode... It's by far the most buggy game mode (mostly due to the spawn system), it's massively unbalanced (the Elites rarely win, and they almost never get positive K/D spreads) and the puny vehicles make me sad.
But I can't stop myself. What really annoys me is that Invasion Slayer is awesome, but no one ever wants to play it. It gave the proper feeling of a battlefield, with shifting objectives, weapons and vehicles being dropped in and properly chaotic melees.
I should just go back to Grab Bag and have a go at Overlook. But nooooo... I have to get addicted to the broken game mode.
Yeah the Elites do vary rarely end up winning; even when stacked with skilled players. It's highly addictive though and the spawn system isn't that bad providing you don't mind walking two minutes to get to your objective.Geo Da Sponge said:I must stop playing Invasion mode... Agreed. I've been able to win and lose as either team. Most of the time it boiled down to crappy teamates.GLo Jones said:IMO it is very well balanced. If playing with just one friend against a disorganised enemy, we've been able to run circles around them (especially on standard invasion).
The only issues I've found are, if it's lagging badly then yes, spawning does suffer. A lot. Plus it always has to split your party onto different teams if there's more than 2 of you. Very annoying.
I've seen the Elites win plenty of times.Geo Da Sponge said:I must stop playing Invasion mode... Airborne for me.Naheal said:Anyone have a favorite class yet?
Yeah, I have 2. Armour lock for team games, I deploy it to help team mates escape and cover them with flags, it's also good when you are trying to return a flag, as the whole Armour Lock bar can return the flag up to halfway before running out. Very last - resort kind of move, can see it getting spammed alot.Naheal said:Anyone have a favorite class yet?
Beta ends on the 19th of May.The_Oracle said:Out of curiosity, does anyone know when the Beta ends? I'm very interested in getting into it and playing the beta, but I probably won't order Halo ODST if it's over in like, three days or so.
Agreed. This is one of my biggest gripes about Invasion. I understand that perhaps Bungie's trying to cut down the game time so that it seems more accessible, but it's still too short, in my opinion. It hardly feels like an epic battle if doesn't even go for 10 minutes. There also aren't enough players. 6 on 6 is too few. It should be 8 on 8.Irridium said:But it would be nice if the time to capture objectives was 2 minutes longer...
The biggest problem I've seen is that it will let you spawn on a team mate who's flying a Banshee. One hundred metres in the air. I've seen multiple players (myself included) commit 'suicide' by spawning in mid-air. Damn fall damage.Programmed_For_Damage said:Yeah the Elites do vary rarely end up winning; even when stacked with skilled players. Okay, I was exaggerating a bit when I said it was massively unbalanced, but the Elites hardly ever get a good K/D ratio so the whole thing feels a bit futile when playing as them. Especially since the way the Spartans normally win is by pinning down the Core half way to the dropship and turning the area into a slaughterhouse. So overall it's not as bad as I suggested, but that last bit can be a real *****.epninja said:I've seen the Elites win plenty of times.Geo Da Sponge said:*snip*
How do you pinpoint the locations? Im an avid user of the camo and ive crawled through waves of spartans undetected, ive even had a guy walk into me and not notice. If theres a way to be detected, i really want to be able to avoid it.Natty DL said:And then, Active Camo, good for Free for All and Slayer, you can hide and assasinate, bad thing is that I can sort of tell where enemies are if they are using stalker, through the Radar Jammer, and before you say "Well duh, it jams your radar" I mean, I can pinpoint their exact location almost. So once people learn that, it will be hard to get by with Active Camo.
