Hola!

Like many lonely and mildly depressed single people, I will be attempting to spend the cold and lonely night finding solace at the bottom of a warm bottle of whiskey.

Only... I've been sat here for the past hour, and I haven't even opened the bottle yet. See, I like being drunk. It's the only reason I drink, sure as hell ain't 'cos it tastes nice.
But drinking alone, and being drunk alone, is just boring.
But being drunk makes me feel better!

Such a quandary.

... oh well.

I have no plans to get drunk tonight. I did have a glass of Jäger earlier this evening however.
It wasn't to alleviate depression though. It was just to make it easier to deal with my studying.

I don't have time to be depressed about it, I work night shift for 11 hours per day so its just another work day for me.

Well there's just 30 minutes left of valentines where i live. The day went pretty much like a normal day, except for my little brother having his girlfriend sleeping over. I kept busy as much as i could, valentines day is not gigantically big here in Sweden.

Still i'm a little bitter (not just over being single), so i'm going to spent these last minutes drinking beer and listen to the kind of hip-hop that makes you want to punch kittens.

Cheers! I raise my can to my fellow singletons.

My valentines day involved 9 hours of work then getting hit by a car on the way home...

But it wasn't all that bad, when I got home my ex/housemate practically made it like a typical valentines day for me *like a boss*

Sucks I couldn't have done all the neat stuff I had planned before we broke up but it was more or less the same as last year minus a whole lot of effort on my part.

I think people are making Valentine's day bad for themselves by focusing on their singleness instead of just not paying attention to the damn thing. And by taking singleness to be a bad thing.
True words, yes. Ordinarily I wouldn't care especially much, but it's these bloody 'occasions' like Valentine's and Christmas that make me realise that all I really want out of life is companionship, and I'm failing so very hard at attaining it. It just brings all my latent depression to the fore and compounds it.

Yes, I've not been drinking as much as I thought I would. I'm unemployed now, I have to make it last!
Oh god, I'm unemployed, there's ANOTHER thing to drown out...

You guys shouldn't feel too bad. I've been in the same relationship for eight years and have yet to be surprised with anything on Valentine's Day by my boyfriend v:

Companionship is great but only if you find someone who's worth sharing the your life with.

My advice to you and everyone else feeling down today (or ever) is don't rush finding someone or force something like that to happen or you might just end up having a companion who's not along for the rest of the journey.

If you're in a relationship, good for you; if you're not in a relationship, complaining only makes you look lonely.

Don't much care/think about it that much personally.

Well today was pretty cool anyways. Had mates over and played L4D2 except my computer didn't work so played Castle Crashers and Sanctum after a while. Had a few beers and pizza. Twas nice.

My friends also said the best thing; "The sad thing is this isn't the first time I've spent valentines day playing L4D... I played it with a mate one year as well... though he had a girlfriend at the time."

You know who your mates are when they'll spend valentines day playing left 4 dead with you...

Eh. I don't drink. And even though I wouldn't mind having a girlfriend, I'm not in a hurry to be in a relationship anytime soon.

It was a pretty good Valentine's day for me though, after I got home from work I got to the end of Jak 3 for the first time today. The big reveal was freaking awesome:

I had the same experience. Every year the same flowers, year after year. He probably had them on an automatic schedule. We're not together anymore and I'm quite enjoying being single. One good thing - the gym was nearly empty tonight!

What is this 'Valentine's Day' of which you speak.

All I noticed today was...
