Probably Flamelurker in Demon's Souls.

Unpredictable, strong, fast, becomes even faster after taking some damage.

There were harder bosses in other games, but so far only Demon's Souls has had real difficulty, my deaths against Flamelurker weren't because the RNG said "fuck you" and killed me in some cheap way.
This, also one hell of a corpse-run.

I hated that pit, probably died more there than in any of the actual boss fights.
Really? I thought it was one of the easiest corpse runs in the game, there was a pretty clear way down, just dropping from platform to platform. Most of the platforms you could see from a given place was in reach, even though you take a little damage. I only think I died the first couple of times, untll I found that out. I thought one of the worst was Old King Allant, as it was quite long, especially if you didn't take the time to kill the dragon.

As for adding to the thread, I'll throw in Maneater, without the glitch, but that was really more due to the enviroment that the actual bosses. I've lost count of the times I actually rolled over the edge, cursing the game and doing the same thing all over again, the next time.

Another one would be Kangaxx from Baldur's Gate 2. I played on Normal I think(next to easiest) and I didn't beat him. When he turns into a demilich, I get royally screwed by him. It's insane.

That's the ones I have for now, though I might add new ones, in case think of any later.

Darth Malak, hardest difficulty, Malak has an improved stats mod, no cheating and doing the fight the hard way.

Kreia at the end of KOTOR 2. Wow she was a brick. It didn't help that you had to beat her when she was first using her awesome, practically unstoppable Force powers and then when she was controlling three lightsabers that carve you really fast. Personally, that's the reason I found Force power-based characters in KOTOR 2 to be rather useless; the final fight was nigh on impossible because she is effectively immune to them. The only way around that is to have a ton of buffs. Conversely, if you go for a combat based character, then you end up getting crushed, unless you can blitz her before she really debuffs you and then murderises you with Force powers. Definitely my hardest.

Umbra is Oblivion was horrific too. I spent ages the first time I fought her and lost a ton of health; by the end of the battle, most of gear was broken, I had no magika reserves and almost no health, despite having burned through tons of potions; she attacks so fast and disarms or knocks you down so easily.

The first YGMIR mech you fight in Mass Effect 2 took me ages because you don't have anything to kill it with! Seriously, pretty much every time I face it, Miranda and Jacob get slaughtered and I burn through all my heavy weapon ammo. Unless I have good tech powers, it seems a ridiculously hard fight.

I'll have to go with the Flamelurker boys on this one. Although every boss in Demon's Souls can be beaten without taking any real damage ranged, they're quite hard when you take them on up close.

There are probably harder bosses, but I feel like I die to other bosses because of RNG and not because I'm an idiot or the boss out-played me.

Varrin from DDS,his first form hides in 1 of 6 pots and missing him wastes 2 of your turn tokens and the only help you get is vague hints from Sera. His second form can possibly inflict all three characters with Hunger which can only be cured by Sera one at a time at the beginning of each round.

Also Alma should get a mention for being hard and fun as hell.

Suikoden 2, Luca blight.
If you've played that game before the by god you'll know what I mean.
It takes 3 full party's to kill him, and you'd better have leveled them all and given them lightening by the time you get there or he'll just cut through you.

And after that he get's barraged by waves of arrows and THEN he forces a duel with the hero.
Suikoden 2 had some of the nastiest bosses if you weren't prepared - bloody loved that game.

Easily the hardest boss I have ever fought. There have been a few that have come close in current Cataclysm raids (200+ attempts to kill heroic difficulty Cho'gall), but I still think that M'uru was the most brutal.

Vercingetorix truly is nasty. Healing itself, heavy magic, becoming invulnerable, removing status effects. I just can't seem to kill it.

It's all about juggling offensive and defensive paradigms. Med up when his shields are up with your synergists/healers, and hit him hard when they drop. You'll also want to stack some wind resist gear and use the Tortoise paradigm when he does his big attack.

That one took me a good 2 hours worth of attempts to figure out.

I can't be the only one who remembers this *****, can I?

Watching that video makes me want to break a controller. Beating her with all characters was grueling.

Mine would have to be, whilst not a boss per se, the collector ambush in Mass Effect 2. The 2 Scions + Harbinger + Insanity = ALOT of raging. The end boss was a pushover compared to this fight.

If I had to pick a true boss fight though, it would have to be Nelo Angelo from DMC1. Not as tough for me now, it was a real challenge back when the game was first out.

That Domz high priest at the end of Beyond Good & Evil was annoying because of the control changing thing in the final stage of the battle.

Ugh, no kidding. Single-handedly the hardest fight in the entire game and only because of the control swap. Changing controls mid-fight is really a dick move: I don't consciously press buttons, I move my character without thinking, after getting used to the controls for a game. It's the same reason why all QTEs are horrible.

False king Allant from demons souls, that guy is pretty damn near impossible as a warrior, if you rush in the approximate 0.5 seconds he is open he will recover in no time and take three fourths of your health, that is if you have the best armor in the entire game, if not then to bad your dead, try again. If you try to block his attacks he will drain all your fatigue with a single blow, and do aforementioned three fourth of health attack.

Fucking Miguel. He's the reason I won't even consider starting a new game in Chrono Cross. NG+ for life.

The most recent bs boss fight was Shao Khan from the newest Mortal Kombat. I was on easy and he was still a pain in the ass that took me about 5 tries to beat.

Yeah, part of what made M'uru so bad was not only the goddam onslaught and eventual zerg phase, causing everyone to be at their absolute best, but that it was progression. KJ wasn't anywhere near as infuriatingly hard. A true testament to it is many guilds, mine included, couldn't down him until almost everyone went leatherworking to abuse the living shit out of the drums. That's not a good sign.

Cho'gall should be hard, as he's the 'final' boss of a raid. He's rough, but just you wait, Sinestra is way harder. We can't even reliably reach phase 2 half the time right now.

Yeah, we've sunk about 40 pulls and we're just starting to see phase 3 of Sinestra. Absolutely unforgiving boss in terms of the mechanics, but our DPS is there as our rogues stop dying to cutters >_<

13/13 is soooo close!
