I'd probably have to say Virgil from DMC3 " I think the toughest mode I beat him on was the one just before Dante must die. Truly an epic battle.

a close second would be...

Abysson from Tales of Synthonia, he's one of the optional bosses and he's a flippin bastard to fight "look him up on youtube!" I give him second cause fighting him is a little more frustrating then epic "though still epic"

easiest is probably Guilty Sparks from halo 3. Loved the game, and the ending still had a lot going for it. But he was pretty much a throw away.

Hardest:
1) Any decent action game on its highest difficulty setting: DMC series, Ninja Gaiden series, God of War series...
2) Lucifer in SMT: Lucifer's Call... Now there's a nice challenge.

Easiest:
1) Most platfomers...
2) Most end-bosses of jRPG's, after completing enough secret bosses and sidequests.

Hardest boss ever: ruby- or emerald-weapon. From Final Fanatsy 7.
Easiest: In episode 2 of the penny arcade-video game you fight some rich person, whom several words of higly ill essence could bedescribed as.
To win at an auction for an apartment you will have to figjt him to the death!!! Wich means attacking him 3 times. The game itself makes fun of him being meant to be the wuzziest boss ever made!

The easiest one I've come across was Majora at the end of Majora's Mask, even without the Uber mask.

Fontaine on Bioshock was the easiest.

The hardest for me was that really long quicktime event in RE4 where Krauser ambushes you. I HATE quicktime events and they kept changing the damn buttons everytime I died!

Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts.
Indeed, especially from KH1. I was a bit dissapointed with the difficulty of Sephiroth in KH2, once I beat him, I felt like the challenge was over, whereas I could go back and fight Sephiroth in KH1 over and over again, not getting bored.
In KH1 I had to get to level 92 before I could beat him.

The final Strider battle in HL2 ep. 2 took me awhile to get through.
Also, some of the bosses in Pikmin 2 are challenging until you get the right strategy. Then they're piss-easy.

As for easiest, Fable 2 definitely, also Master Hand is SSB.
Embarrassing as it may be, it took my friend and I around 4 or 5 tries to beat Guilty Spark in Halo 3 last time we played.

Easy? Halo... 2? 3? A crippled old alien in a wheelchair? Beat him in the face once or twice? *Shrug*

Hard? Diablo 2 expansion: Diablo and Baal were both quite troublesome the first few times.
in hell difficulty maybe
You forget yourself - it was a simple question seeking a subjective answer.

Thank you for your opinion, however.

CoD 4. Nothing beats slow motion, shell shocked terrorist shooting gallery.
That was fun.
Although first time I did it I emptied the entire clip into Imran zakhaev
bad move...
Same here. My friend was like "Don't do that" And I was all "Wtf, the evil guys dad, shouldn't I win?"

No. I didn't win.

Hardest: Any boss from DMC3 (the original one) on normal difficulty and beyond after level 3. That entire game was just ridiculous.

Easiest: the cotton candy guy from Yoshi's Story (I think, you hurt him by eating him which heals you while he just jumps around and does nothing about you eating him).
