Serious answer: Probably RAAM.
Other answer: Trees. They come out of nowhere and block everything I do. They always get in the way...

Fighting Zabuza in Naruto: Rise of a Ninja... Goddamn that game is hard. I used up all my memory clips, died like 20 times and could only beat him by the game pitying me and refilling my memclips before battle. I have to say I really really suck at that game, but I love it.

I hate to say this but, the Gi Nattak from FF VII. I was low because of the spider battles and he just wooped my ass before i ever even thought about the elixer trick.

When i DID find out though, it was just like a big FUCK YOU!!!! right in my face

The Chandelier is nothing compared to Lt. Pasternak from the same game.

He does impossible 180 degree turns, completely disappears from the radar (and impossible to target if he does) if he's not in your sight for more than 2 seconds, something which WILL happen ALL THE TIME since he likes to do a 90 degree turn and pass real close to you at full speed, requiring YOU to do a much slower 180 degree turn.

Oh, untargetable and impossible to hit even if you DO get a lock-on? Pfft, that's nothing - the guy takes literally a dozen missiles to take down. Think it's over? Nope, he gets to fire 12 homing (one-shot-kill) missiles constantly, ALL aimed at YOU. And if that wasn't enough, he's surrounded by nearly a hundred drones that also do impossible 180 turns and are impossible to hit. So if you lose sight of him while you were getting a lock-on, you automatically target one of those damn drones who look exactly like his plane, making you waste precious ammo.

Oh, and the whole level has excessive bloom and your allies can't target him either.

Have fun.
He was hard, no doubt. Oddly enough, if you use your Support correctly, you never even have to fire on him.

I'm serious though about the Ace of Aces difficulty on Chandelier though, that is really fucking hard. You've got the same tactics of Pasternak in there in all of the Strigon guys, just they don't have the radar invisibility or the drones or the uberweapon. But still, Chandelier: most retarded final level ever.

The 3rd fight with bowser in super mario 64. Damn that was tough shit, took me a while, granted I was only like 8 lol.

Also, I haven't played through the full game yet but there was this boss fight in Metal Gear Solid 4 with this psycho chick who's entire village and family were slaughtered and she can't stop laughing. THAT WAS GOD DAMN HARD.

That damn hammer brother. You know the one; the one in world 8-4 right before the final Bowser. That guy is really hard to kill. I eventually took to just jumping over him and hoping no hammers hit me.

Balos from Dokutsu Monogatari. That kept me going for weeks. I've still only beat him twice without cheating.

Hmmm... So many bosses... so many deaths....
Well, just recently I played FF13 and there's that fight with Sazh's summon. That was damned hard until I figured out that I could use the buff items right outside of the cutscene and they would still work.

But definitely that headless optional boss from Golden Sun 2. You know, the one where the only way to get to him is to collect all of the Djinni or whatever they're called. Even maxing out my characters to level 99, and I still died a few times. Damn he was hard.

There's probably a lot more but I can't think of them right now. I probably blocked them from my memory...

Yes, Sephiroth on KH1 is the hardest boss in video game history IMO... I've never faced a harder boss.
Never play Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix then, Terra will murder you, like he has done to me hundreds of times. I will beat him one day.
OT: The hardest enemy I have faced is...The in-game Camera. It seems to have fun annoying players by pointing in the wrong direction.
[sub]Goes along with my hatred of Terra![/sub]

The sexual answer this thread was made for: Fake breasts (just joking, I live an asexual lifestyle (not by choice))

The real answer:

- The big bosses at the end of the Golden Axe skirmish campaign
- The Watcher in Myth: The Fallen Lords (here's someone beating the level using game exploits and by changing the game speed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwLAZRtp9Ig)
- I found beating Bendak Starkiller rather hard, I guess because I was low level at the time
- fighting a Spanish armada in Empire Total War. I had fourth rates while they had two first rate ships of the line and a couple frigates. Pretty hard core.

Seymour 2 from FFX.
it took me soo long to realize that he was vunerable to poison damage.
i want that 4 months of my life back.
Ya don't say I recently popped that back into my PS2 and started up a save just after Operation Mi'hen, killed Seymour, Evrae, and Seymour 2 all on the first try Cid didn't even get a chance to shoot missles at Evrae it died so fast (But 50 strength a Miracle Drink and Slice & Dice will do that)

Hardest enemy eh? Uhhh yeah thanks to that guy talking about FFX only one that comes to mind is Evrae in my very first play through lost so many damn times then I accidently made a Trio of 9999 and kicked ass

I WANA BE DA GUY
Haha, I was going to say something else, but The Guy tops them all.Seriously. Screw controller throwing rage: I just about tossed my entire laptop on that boss.

What I was going to say was pretty much EVERYTHING in Oblivion when I levelled my character 'wrong'. Having played so much Morrowind I was worried about levelling up really fast with one skill and letting others fall behind. I remember in Morrowind that meant you'd have to take forever to ascend in guild ranks.

Damn shame I spend about three straight levels trying to push my repairing skills, and non-combat magic up. Net effect: three level higher enemies, and my mad repair, restoration, and alchemy skills aren't bothering them at all. Go figure, reroll character, start over and do it right this time.

EDIT: forgot level 4 of Ikaruga. I can't get through that damn blender arrangement of walls, overlapping opposite color streams of bullets, and enemies in the middle while maintaining any kind of chain. That game is HARD.
