I've done a search for this. I found 'Best Bosses', 'Hardest Games' and even 'Easiest Bosses' but no Hardest Bosses so I think I'm safe... :)

So what are the hardest bosses you've come accross in games?

My list would be:

-> Demon Gate - Final Fantasy VII - PS1
-> The Giant Brain - Metal Slug - SNES
-> Final Boss - Probotector (Contra in US) - NES
-> Balrog - SFII Turbo (On 7 Stars)

Other guys that didn't quite make the list:

-> Frost Cerberus - Devil May Cry 3
-> The Old Dude (?) - Devil May Cry 4
-> The Whole Game - Super Smash TV - SNES

Lord Lucien! [/sarcasm]

I'm honestly unsure. Most of the bosses I fight are usually rather easy, as the general point of it them is to find a weakpoint and blast away at it. I'd probably have to go with the AF Answerer from Armored Core: for Answer. I still don't know how to kill the thing, and its cannons are capable of killing you in one hit if you're not careful.

Any boss from any .hack// game. Not because they are hard to beat, but because they are SO DAMN TIME CONSUMING!?! You need to beat each one to a pulp while they are invincible for about an hour just to use a special move that gets rid of their invincibility, then beat the to death for another hour to finish them off. The difficulty curve is like a brick wall. I literally beat about three or four bosses on the first game (so about a quarter of the way through, yes, only a quarter...) then gave up because it was getting on my nerves. I have to say beating RAAM on Gears of War wasn't too bad, but it did get annoying that half my shots bounced off him and the other half were deflected by the Nemacyst flying around...

Your shadow in the original Prince of Persia. That took me a very long time.

Also Karazhan: Chess in WoW when there's some bug stopping 8 of your group from controlling the pieces.

OOOH... How could I forget...

Sephiroth - Kingdom Hearts II

Still can't kill him... Can't even wound him. And I've played about 5 hours of after game play. Just levelling up.

Wasnt there a story on here a while back about an end game boss on FF online that the best clan in the game tried for 18 hours to kill before giving up? I think thats the hardest or "ardest"
Yeah, Pandemonia/um or something.

Anyhoo, Nightmare in Metroid Fusion, when trying to go for a sub-15% upgrades score. I'm STILL stuck there. If only I just had one more energy tank >.<

Sephiroth in KH II is cake compared to him in the original, but he's still a very fucking hard boss. All you have to do is keep a rhythm to your attacks so he has less of a chance to fight back, spam Curaga even if you don't need it (1 HP matters in this fight), find his patterns and abuse Curaga before he casts certain spells, and abuse Glide if you have it.

Anyway, the hardest boss I've fought in recent memory is Seven Force from Gunstar Heroes in the Mine level.

Edit: Do what McCloud said too, spamming Elixers is all right too, and if I remember correctly now, I had to train to around level 99 before I could even touch him. It's a been a while since I beat Sephy.

Really? I found him to be one of the easiest bosses in the game, and Dante to be much, much harder.

The hardest boss I've ever fought is by far, Dr. Wily from Mega Man 7. Even if you know how to dodge his homing orbs, you need a kickass level of timing and precision to beat him, unless you go the easy route and use special weapons and healing items. It's a hell of a long endurance battle too. You need to hit him with 28 fully charged shots to beat him.

Vergil from DMC3 is worth a mention as well, but unfortunately, I've only played DMC3 enough to beat Normal difficulty (and it's the Special Edition where all the difficulties below Very Hard are toned down).

I managed to kill him after a three-hour run and several elixirs at level 99. He's very difficult, but if you get a very damage-aligned keyblade and keep going at him you might have a chance. A few things to keep in mind:

Keep Aerial Recovery on. That way, when he does the combo that involves batting you up in the air and smacking you about, you can recover after the initial blow and beat the crap out of him instead.

Also, a trick with elixirs. When Sephiroth uses Sin Harvest Angel (which, of course, reduces you to 1HP and 0MP), he immediately follows with Flash, an attack that causes a buttload of damage unless you master the extremely difficult reaction command. Because of this and the fact that elixirs take a second to actually heal you, you need to time the use of your elixir just right so that it heals you just after the effects of SHA. It's usually best to throw it up a split-second after you see the halo appear over your head.

Hopefully, that'll work. Though the ending cinematic for it is... Disappointing, to say the least. You get a kickass keyblade out of it, though.

on a similar issue, what would be everyones favourite bosses? thought it would be a good forum to ask on. My top 5 would be something like...

5-The leviathan from resistance 2; easy but so darn epic
4-nemasis from final fantasy 10 (also put this instead of omega for hard bosses)
3-any of the dark aeons from ff10
2-the end from mgs3
1-siefer from final fantasy 8 disc 3

okay there is kinda a trend here with final fantasy but hey its my favourite series of games, especially 8,7,10,9 in that order :)

I find it easy to beat him tbh, i just enjoy it. either sniping him all stealth like or sneaking up on him equally stealth like. you need to get his attention work out where he shooting from, find a way to sneak up to there crawling and slow walking, use heat vision to watch for foot marks, get close hold him up and tranq him, do it 3 times and you get the best camo in the game followed by the mosin nagant if you can do it all the way through with the tranq
