-> The Whole Game - Super Smash TV - SNES
I'm great at Smash TV. I've actually been through it without dieing once.
I don't believe you. Not one bit.
Don't believe me for all I care because I know it's true (times like these you wish you had recorded it).
don't mean to anger anyone but if you dont care cos you know its true, why do you wish you recorded it?
Can a person not care about another persons opinion, yet still be smug about disproving it?

Hardest boss I've ever come up against is Theseus in God of War 2 on titan mode... He could summon an indefinite horde of deadly minotaurs, pepper you from afar, and summon one-hit-kill icicles from the ground while doing his other attacks! And since he's the first boss you've got a wee bit of health and only a little magic, and your blades haven't been upgraded many times yet...

He was without a doubt harder than any of the other bosses in that game. Man, the first time I beat him (On God difficulty) I kinda felt bad for the guy... I mean, he was a prick but he didn't deserve that... But when I finally beat him on Titan mode? I counted off every single time Kratos slammed the door on his head! It seemed much more reasonable then...

I'm going to have to go with Krauser on Re4 on Profesional mode. Me and freind only beat him by sheer luck and a random rocket launcher. I think we died some 80 times.

OOOH... How could I forget...

Sephiroth - Kingdom Hearts II

Still can't kill him... Can't even wound him. And I've played about 5 hours of after game play. Just levelling up.
*snip*
You all do realise this is what the spoiler brackets are for? Y'know.. since they're called "spoiler" brackets? *sigh*...
Guess this post shall have to be a message to all of you who post and have posted in this thread. Use 'em.

On topic, there are not a lot of hard bosses I have met really... maybe Spike from Secret of Mana? He's a tough one when ya met him, because you don't have magic.

Here comes the obscure reference train: basically the last three baddies you fight if you play Zone of the Enders on Very Hard. That game is really easy overall, except for the end, which makes you pay for doing as well as you did until then.

Antharas the Earth Dragon in Lineage 2, it's ridiculous enough that you need atleast 200 people to do any damage to him but when you get killed you could lose your belongings.

The Black Diablo in Diablo 2, he regenerates life too full very quickly and he can kill you with ease even with the best armour in the game.

Wizpig on his rocket in Diddy Kong Racing, not only do you have to find every power-up for max speed but you also have do alot of dodging while competing against someone who is bigger and faster than you. Wizpig fires projectiles and even try's to run into you but as soon as you can get in front of him you just need to focus on the course. Meteors and lightning aswell as his minions will get in your way and I seriously think it is impossible to beat him on your first try, you need to lose many times to find out were everything is going to come from!

Spiritual Larsa in Mushihimesama Futari Black Label, you literally have to squint to make it through all the projectiles along with 100% focus, the bastard also does some unavoidable fire so you have to save some bombs in order to survive.

Donkey Kong in the last level of Donkey Kong, still one of the hardest games ever with your lack of abilities and the fact that you would have to spend weeks planning the right time to jump over clever barrels which can predict your movements. For fuck sake, they even made a documentary on it because it was that bloody hard!

The HARDEST boss? The reason there's no HARDEST boss is because they're all fuckin easy. Multiplayer is where it's at.

Just thinking of the hardest boss I have done... must be Psycho Mantis. I actually had to stop using reflexes and use my brain for three seconds.

Hardest Boss: Not sure. Rapthorne from Dragon Quest VIII gets points for being a total slog though, with the summoning of seven mages requiring everyone to pray for a turn, for seven turns before you could get a hit in? *Yawn*

Favourite Boss(es): Easily, the following,

Sephiroth: Kingdom Hearts/Kingdom Hearts II - A fantastic boss fight in both games. He's considerably harder in the first game, but was still fun to fight. His "Descend Heartless Angel" attack was brilliantly redesigned for both games as well. My only gripe with him was that, even on Proud mode, he wasn't much of a challenge in the second game. Beat him at level 53, Ultima Weapon (I guess that counts for something), took me around 9/10 minutes to do. *Sigh*

The End: Metal Gear Solid 3 - Innovative, interesting and intense. Sneaking around three massive areas in search of a sniper genius? Yes please! What made it even better were the numerous options available to you as well. You could eat his parrot, making him enraged and giving his position, you could wait for him to fall asleep for the same effect, you could wait a week and let him die of old age, or, best of all, you could kill him off earlier in the game, leaving you a fight with Ocelot's guard!

3) Final Donkey Kong not in the classic one, but in the '94 remake on Gameboy. Pretty challenging game overall, but the final super-sized DK is the last straw. There are seismic impacts every few seconds which you MUST jump during to avoid being stunned by (if you do get stunned, you cannot get out of the way of the falling debris in time and will die), the only way up to the ledge where the barrel lies is to make tricky jumps off his massive fists as they're in the process of trying to smash you. Also, seismic impacts destroy the barrel even if it's in your hands at which point you must wait for a new one to be knocked loose. One slip up and its back to the start. I think he takes like six or seven barrels before going down, changing his pattern every two hits.

2) Spikey Tiger from Secret of Mana. He's got magic and you don't. He can spend over half the fight out of your reach peppering your party with fire and paralysis magic free from harm unless you're good with the bow and he's not targeting you. When he finally DOES get off the damned ledges he will always slam down on you in 'ball' form to damage you and knock you out for a good 5 seconds, again hard to dodge for you even if you forget about charging up and just run, absolutely impossible for your CPU allies. You will typically take 100+ damage divided amongst your party for every 30-40 you inflict on him!
His upgraded recolor 'Blue Spike', while still tough, is nothing compared to this beast.

1) Zophar in Lunar 2 takes 1st, because as insane as Ultimate DK and Spikey are I've actually beaten them several times. Zophar's second phase has five segments, each one possessing more HP than any other boss in the game apiece. Each one gets its own attack, usually the head using one of Zophar's two single-person attacks that are a guaranteed kill on them unless you used the White Dragon Summon in time (Nova and an unnamed attack which is just him laughing... deadliest laughter ever). With an item cap of 15 and no way to replenish any items you used on the way through his castle, once he kills Ronfar enough times you have unquestionably lost. No boss in any Final Fantasy or Wild Arms can compare- I've beaten them all except for Penance and the Dark Aeons due to not having the international ver.

When I was young the hardest boss had to be CyberDemon & SpiderMasterMind for DOOM. Now I find Crazy/MasterHand in Smash Bros: Brawl are up there on the difficulty meter.
