Radec from Killzone 2. I ended up throwing my controller at a wall when I died for the sixth or seventh time.

Kingdom Hearts: PS2: Sephiroth.

EDIT: Am I the only one whose beaten him here...?
i have beaten him on Kingdom Hearts 1 but not on Kingdom Hearts 2.
He gets very hard when he starts to do the attack which leaves you at 1 hit death
I thought he was easier on 2 because he has a set pattern which leaves him open to attack.

The final boss on Prototype really pissed me off. Also, Tartarus in Halo 2 was always hard for me, for some reason. I know he's not a difficult boss, but he always managed to be irritating.
The supreme hunter? yeah he`s a utter bastard ,time limit doesn`t help, if you`re lucky the millitary will buy you some time by attacking him,use whipfist and rob helicopter like crazy ,then sprint over to the missiles and throw them at him

Phase 1 of Dark Gia on Sonic Unleashed.
I think I spent about 2 hours on that. Then I still had to do phase 2...

Penance in FFX. Took like 3 hours, plus the 100+ hours of levelling up that went before it.

And Dou Niu In Shenmue 2, must have worn the dosge button down to a nub.

Dark Samus
THIS!!! I got through hypermode 100% without a hitch, and then I run into her! Three hours of gameplay later and I haven't got her past half way on her first form! How can I stroll through the rest of the game and then be completely and utterly pwnt all of a sudden? Her heal 1/4 of her health in 1/20 of the time it takes to take it off could be the problem! Especially when she does it three #$@%! times in a row!!!
OT, but I hate to see someone else stuck the way I was for a time. Three pointers:

1- You can tell the false Echoes from the real thing by the color of their visors or their color in the X-Ray scope. Blasting the real one first during their healing move might make Dark Samus laugh, but she'll regain far less health that way- you'll have the last laugh.
2- DS frequently executes a spin move with one Echo, both of them firing huge orange beams, quite hard to dodge normally. Going Morph Ball not only avoids it completely but lets you Hyperball them while they're spinning (oddly I've never seen this mentioned in any walkthrough).
3- Blowing up the large 'pillars' that she generates sometimes gives you energy even on Hyper difficulty, and it only takes two charged blasts or one Hyper Missile. DS will eventually destroy them too but you won't get any energy. I've never been hurt by a falling pillar so the more she does that move the better.

It's a grueling fight even with these tips, possibly the toughest in all of Metroid Prime save the Boost Guardian or Spider Guardian. Keep trying and don't give up (duh)- like I said, the 2nd phase is kind of a breather, allowing you to regain more energy from it than you lose if you play well. Unfortunatley the third and final doesn't drop ANY energy.

Heh. I must've been lucky, then. He's never used it on me. At least, not that I can remember...
Well if you fight him properly, you'll never see it at all. The last time I did it, I used Kumatora's PK Starstorm then PK Love Omega right after he used a Luxury Banana (a cue that he's going to use Starstorm soon), and it killed him outright xD
True. I know I just kept using PK Thunder gamma on him and just kept using combos with Lucas, Duster, and Boney until he fell. Could've helped that my party was slightly over-leveled...
The other times I've fought him I've had all the powers (New Game Plus thing xD), so it was easy >.>

Actually I disagree about RPG bosses simply because the hardest ones are ones that you can't beat simply by leveling/statting up.

Some of the SMT bosses are like this.

For example trying to beat the Demifiend in DDS is a serious chore, as is beating the final "hidden" boss of Nocturne, or either of the velvet room assistants in Persona 3/4 (differant one in each). The stats are just an entry requirement, even if you maxx everything it comes down to very detailed knowlege, timing, and a bit of luck.

I am however disqualified since all of them on my list would be RPG bosses as I am primarily an RPG gamer...

Oh wait, actually I guess fighting games would actually count. For those that read this far (I'm editing this in) I will nominate (dramatic drum roll): Mildred Avalon from Arcana Heart.

I'm not a great fighting game player, but I am okay even against other people. Over the years I've run into some truely obnoxious "final bosses" in fighting games. SNK seems especially fond of ultra-cheap final enemies for arcade mode. Then of course you've got like Alpha-152 from Dead Or Alive, or the final 3 part fight at the end of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 that people think are obnoxious.

To me at least Mildred makes them all look like bloody kittens. Seth in SF IV is an absolute joke compared to Mildred. Mildred feeds on your tears.

She's a two part fight. The first stage is her in like a cocoon which is a ranged attack war which is easy to cheez with the right Arcana. But after that round she comes out at full power and pretty much pwns you with things like super-lasers falling from the sky. All the first round determines is whether or not her special gauge is fully charged at the beginning of the fight which pretty much influances whether you get annihilated immediatly or not. :p

I suppose she isn't THAT bad since I have beaten her, but still she's the most difficult boss I can think of off the top of my head. Some have claimed that the final arcade mode bosses in Guilty Gear are harder, but I do not think so.

While he wasn't particularly dastardly in terms of overall strength, the fact that Kessler (inFAMOUS) had a downright preposterous amount of health made him a hassle.

I never did the New Game+ thing. I started over from the very beginning again and just ran through it like it was my first time.

But I did make sure I got Lifeup Omega before I fought the Masked Man at the temple...

I am not sure about you guys (or girls) but I'd have to say either General Raam (Gears of war xbox 360)9.999/10 or Sanctus (Devil may cry 4 I, played it on Xbox 360), first and second time only second time was harder 9/10 (first time) and 9.99/10 (second time)

Seraph Lamington from Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. That guy was a *****. Or it might've been because all my characters were level 50-65 except level 80 Laharl.
And in close second, the 1st fight against Magus in Chrono Trigger, bringing every character to the brink of death every 2 turns makes the fight kind of difficult.

Strong arms power and body armour, just throw missiles at him, dont touch the helis as they just waste time and you ca do the same amount of damage with the missiles

Ndesu in Resident Evil 5 on Professional (PS3)
It's feckin' impossible to beat that dude, since his weak spot disappears from time to time...
