and inb4 Harley Quinn and Poision Ivey, because it'll just prove your idiocy.
And how many people would have said that The Scarecrow would be a shitstack terrible idea before Batman Begins came out? All it needs is a chance and a competent director, and half of that is fulfilled already.
who said anything about scarecrow being an bad idea before the movie came out? i remember me and thousands others dancing whit glee when we heard the rumors first time.

How ever, to add Harley Quinn we would need the Joker, and sense Ledger died it wouldn't look as good.

Or we could have Harley be in a relationship with.... was her name Poison Ivy?

You guys all missed the best Harley possible...

Lori Petty

She has the body for it, the face, she has the voice (which a lot of the suggestions above don't. Can't see HBCarter doing high-pitch squeaky), and she is able to play the same kind of batshit-insane character Heath did.

See the movie "Tank Girl", and try telling me I'm wrong.
She looks good.

I agree with this guy, Lori Petty looks good.

Harley Quinn - Lori Petty [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001614/]
I can see that, given the direction they went with Joker.

The Riddler - Mitch Pileggi [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0683379/]
Meh. Having a hard time picturing Skinner from X-Files as Riddler.

The Mad Hatter - Mark Sheppard [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0791968/]
Don't know if I can ever imagine DC's Mad Hatter in film form. And besides that, too many people will be thinking of the Alice in Wonderland version.

Poison Ivy - Tricia Helfer [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1065454/]
I can see her in that role. Don't know much of her work other than her voice of Black Cat in Spectacular Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.

Killer Croc - Ron Perlman [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000579/]
I'm sold. Perlman in prosthetic make-up could work.

(Mr.) Victor Freeze - Mitch Pileggi (if not as Riddler), Alt: Patrick Stewart [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001772/]
I don't really see Stewart as Mr. Freeze, but I can totally see Pileggi. It would be nice to see the Nolan version of him.

Clayface - Aaron Douglas [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0234928/]
Clayface wouldn't probably go so well, considering he'll be CG most of the time and there are too many characters who used the name to choose from. As much as I would like to see Clayface on the silver screen, and being Matt Hagen from Batman: TAS, it will most likely never happen.

Catwoman - Summer Glau [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1132359/]
I don't know about you, but I find her to be a bit creepy just looking at her. I think, for Selina Kyle, there would have to be someone whose a bit more seasoned and can still pull off acrobatics.

I couldn't agree with you more.

You realize that your argument is basically "they've had other bad ideas that were good, so maybe this bad idea will be good?"

People are all hyped about Harley because Ledger did such an amazing job. But Harley Quinn and the Joker are two very different characters. The fact of the matter is, while the Joker can be pulled off (very well) without Harley, Harley can't be pulled off without the Joker. Hell, half of her characterization is the abusive relationship the two share. You cut the Joker out, you cut Harley out. I don't dislike Harley. While I do doubt that a mainstream audience would be accepting of her, I'm not going to pummel that before seeing it. What I dislike is the idea of idiots trying to ride off the Joker's success with some crappy rip-off. And since Nolan isn't an idiot, I wouldn't get my hopes up for a big screen Harley Quinn appearance.

But you don't have to cut the Joker out. Her puddin' will always be there in her head. Just think of one of the millions of Heath Ledger fans that wanted the Joker cut out of the Batman pantheon and you have the dark version of Harley.

Kooky, a little sexual (though with no idea she is being that) and willing to put a knife to the throat of anyone who DARES suggest that anyone other than Heath should ever play him.

In fact, there's your drop in for the character.

INT. Harley's House

Silhouette of a head lolling to one side, rocking back and forth in an oversized armchair. In front of the figure is a television screen with the brightness turned up to full.

As we swing around we see the bloodyshot eyes of HARLEEN QUINZEL staring at a news report.

REPORTER(V.O) : "Filming on the biography of Joker will take place on Monday with actor Paul Constantine trying hard to do justice to the master of injustice."

HARLEY(squealing) Puddin'!

She leaps and hugs the television. Paul Constantine's madeup face appears on the screen and Harley positions herself so that the reflection seems to be kissing her.

HARLEY: I won't let them put you away again, Mister J. You'll see how much I love you.

From the backlight of the television, you can see the remnants of a room that defines fandom. Posters, figurines and all the other ecoutrements. But with each, there's been the crazed alterings of a figure next to the Joker.

I would probably say Megan Fox. Not only does she actually have sex appeal (the point of Harley), it's also been proven she has no problem with being portrayed as the most coquettish girl ever, and being evil.

Well, to be honest I think Harley Quinn would be best portrayed by an unknown. A lot of the actresses mentioned above are a bit too old to pull it off. Lori Petty would be VERY good in the role but she's too old. She's pushing 50, according to her wikipedia entry she graduated High School in 1981 so if she was like 17 or 18 then she's about 45-46 now.

This is a problem with many of the more well know actresses. Harley isn't supposed to be a teenager, but she isn't supposed to be that old either. I'd *Guess* that since she was supposed to be a relatively new Prison Shrink with an unhealthy interest in The Joker from college she'd be about 28 or so. Assuming she started College after High School and did an 8 year Hitch for a PHD/Doctorate (with her Doctoral Thesis probably on The Joker) she'd have been 25 or 26 when she first became Harley Quinn. If she's a "new" Harley then that would be the age, but if she's being brought in as an established Henchwoman then you'd want to add a couple of years onto that.

It's a guess.

You'd also want someone relatively skilled as a Gymnist or who at least has the build for it, some of the girls mentioned above just don't fit the role.

A young Daryl Hannah would also have been pretty good (she played Pris in Blade Runner) but again she's waaay too ancient for this role.

I'm not sure how Meagan Fox would look as a blonde, unless of course they really want to change the features of the character. Plus, while Meagan is hot, what I've seen of her so far doesn't impress me with her acting abillity.

Mia Sara did an okay job in "Birds Of Prey", her age could be somewhat explained given the passage of a few years since the passing of The Joker and doubtlessly having been active before that.

While it's going against type, Natalie Portman might be a relatively good choice since she could pass for the right age, and she can actually act and has proven this.

Still, I think an unknown is the best bet.

Elizabeth Banks...she's comedically funny as seen in Zack and Miri, she's got a good body, she's willing to work on comic book films (that was her running around as Betty Brant in all 3 of the Spider-Man films). She's looks better than Mia Sara for the part (who's already played her in live action, folks). That, and besides vehemently wanting to see her as Felicia Hardy in a Marvel project (because she'd own that role, too), she's just crazy enough to do it. And she's actually about the right age to be a psychiatrist (and pulls off the doctor look fairly well). Now, only need a harlequin costume... http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0006969/

Meg Ryan. Sweet. Adorable. Malicious. Meg Ryan.

Originaly it was suppose to be Madonna, so I hope they don't try and go that same route. And with Ledger as Joker, they might be wanting a younger face. Heaven forbid someone like Miley Cyrus or even worse, Paris Hilton gets the role. *cringe*
Oddly enough, I think Paris Hilton's face could work. Shame she's got no talent to speak of.

Hey hey hey, I hate Paris Hilton with a passion too, but even I can't deny that she was very good in "Repo: the Genetic Opera". Seriously, check it out. You will never look at that bimbo in the same way again

But I second the OP's choice. Kristen Bell's hot and Veronica Mars was a fucking good tv series

Angelina Jolie, I'm honestly not even sure why, I can just picture her there (oi, no, no naughty thoughts, bad reader).
Nah, not Harley Quinn. She'd make a pretty good Poison Ivy though. Dunno why but I quite like the idea of Alexa Vega. Perhaps Helena Bonham Carter too

In order...

With Mitch Pileggi, I don't know how much of an X-Files fan you are, how much you've seen, but I have the whole damn series plus the movies, and have seen them all multiple times. In the later years, Pileggi's real talent shows through, when he gets to be more than just a stiff-suit boss and actually gets caught up in the conspiracy. He can do it. He can play the part, but not in the way of the animated series. I'm not casting for cartoony or comic book roles, but darker, more haunted characters like Raj, Scarecrow, Joker, and Two-Face have been.
I've seen up to and stopped in the middle of season 8, thanks to a friend who has a super man-crush for Duchovny. I know the guy can act, I just can't see him in that role based on what I read in comics, not the cartoons. If he can play a guy who is obsessed with puzzles and riddles, then good on him. I won't complain.

Khell_Sennet said:
Sheppard falls much the same way. Not a guy who has an obsession with Alice in Wonderland, to the point he goes loopy and becomes a villain... No, we're looking for a guy who is a villain, but has an Alice bent to his madness. Think more Hannibal Lecktor and less Jack Sparrow. A guy who could blend in to a crowd when needed, instead of someone who stands out no matter what.
Okay, but let me ask you this: what kind of story can you make with DC's Mad Hatter without showing his obsession with Alice? How can you make a movie around a delusional schizophrenic without having to copy Dark Knight's Joker (not that he was schizophrenic, but you get my point)?

Khell_Sennet said:
As to Helfer, you've never seen Galactica? Caprica Six, the second most badass female role (second only to "Starbuck" Katee Sackhoff and followed close third by "Ivanova" Claudia Christian)?

Change the dress to green, the hair to red, and bingo, the perfect poison Ivy.
Well... Paris Hilton could also be poison Ivy. Doesn't have the look, but touch her and you will itch.
XD
I've never seen Galactical, for I have no interest in it. But, I did look at the picture of her on the IMDB link you provided. Like I said before, I can see her in that role. If she's as good as you claim, then I say I'd look forward to her Poison Ivy.

Clayface is what you would call a multi-actor role. Douglas would be what Clayface looks like before becoming a monster, and the form he instinctively takes when trying to pass as normal. As well, Douglas would provide the voice for when he is CG Mudman. But the joy of a character like Clayface isn't in seeing the blob of play-dough, but the impersonating of others. So a good quarter of the movie, he could be anyone else, played by anyone else. And it would be obligatory of him to impersonate the bat, so at one point, we will need two Christian Bale's (though one is handful enough).
Lets not forget how cool it would look to see live-action Clayface fighting Batman :)

Khell_Sennet said:
And I stand firm on Summer as Catwoman. Bruce Wayne in the Nolanverse series is much younger than the Keaton/Kilmer/Clooney Bruce, and thus needs a Catwoman of equal youth. It's fine with other characters to be older than Bruce, but Catwoman becomes a love interest, and one would expect a dashing young billionaire to fall for a nubile young lady, not someone old enough to be his (dead) mother. That, and I really REALLY like Summer Glau.
Aside from you bias statement in the end, you do have a point, but I would rather see him with someone who doesn't look like a real-doll with a billboard-sized forehead. And I don't know if you notice, but most actresses nowadays have been playing characters that are younger than themselves. It's called make-up. Plus, wouldn't you want a cougar to play Catwoman? :p
