You know that mission in MW2, "Wolverines!" well I have this legal documentation right here
From the Call of Duty wiki *clears throat*

"While the mission, presumably for sensitivity reasons, takes place in a non-specific area of "Northeastern Virginia," evidence in the game files and the layout of the streets, architecture of the houses, and generalized restaurants based on real restaurants suggests that this level takes place in Sterling, Virginia in Loudoun County"

Yeah. man thats my hood right there, I still hold on to the belief that a fan from my town wrote that because while the shopping center seemed familliar it was pretty generic it could've been anywhere my friend says its in Arlington who knows, but enough about my fanboyism towards that non-descript suburb I inhabit, have you ever seen a game level or a game that in its entirity is set in an area, city, town, etc. that you live in, hell I'll even take countries just so more people can respond

And I'm sorry for mentionning MW2 I know your sick of it, but my town is really really obscure especially in an international community so thats the only game I know.

Nope. Apparently Toronto is a bad place to set a game. Meh, whatever.

Well no. It's rare that a game will be set in england int he first place, let alone a location other than London.

You should tell all the New Yorkers to not reply here, there'd be so many 'yes'-posts it would completely manipulate the image. ;D

A game set in Karaganda? Not a chance in hell. I only saw three games - C&C Generals, Tomb Raider: Legend, and Modern Warfare 2 - use my country as a setting. In the first case, it was for rocket launchpad, in second and third one - for the Tyan-Shan mountains in the south.

Don't think there are any set in Cork either.

Though we do get mentioned in a Metallica song (A cover version, but still Metallica)

Florida is so full of elderly people, the only game that could ever be set here would be Retirement Home Manager.

I'd hate to see a game set in my hometown (it'd be boring as poo), but I'd love to see a game set in my current town. Seriously, a college town seems like it'd be a great setting for a free-roaming game, especially when it's a college town full of potheads.

Kazakhstan?

OT: I don't think it has, and I'd be surprised if it was. A sprawling provincial capital of the least liked province of Canada isn't a good start, the fact that it's surrounded by prairies in the middle of nowhere doesn't help.

Driver, but I forget which one.

hmmmmm.... well I have lived in quite a few places...

Detroit? well Im sure something has happened there. But I cant think of it.
Newport, North Carolina? nope. unless there is a sailing game. (cant imagine it would be too fun, the real thing has no comparison.)
Egpyt? well Im sure but not in asyut. its kinda like Cairos little underappreciated brother
North Branch, Michigan? oh heck no! but im pretty sure half of all country songs that talk about a small town are refering to North Branch. And I began to wonder if that song "Photograph" by nickleback wasnt talking about good old NB as well. MAJOR SHOUT OUT TO MY NORTH BRANCH BRONCOS!

*walks away quietly singing to self* "This is where I went to school, most of the time I had better thing to do, criminal record says I broke in twice, musta done it half dozen time.
We used to listen to the radio, and sing along with every song we know, we swore someday we would find out how it feels to sing to more than just a steering wheel."

Given that I think in Celsius that sounds like an awesome game setting. Hot enough to burn the skin from your face in seconds.
