Nope. Apparently Toronto is a bad place to set a game. Meh, whatever.
You think Toronto is a bad place to set a game? At least it's a major city. Try Winnipeg, VERY bad place to set a game.

Several books, some pen and paper RPGs and the old (SNES and Genesis) Shadowrun games were all set in my hometown.

I don't believe Dayton, OH (of the U.S. of course) ever appears in a game, but the protagonists in Eagle Eye do visit our airport... haha

El Paso is surprisingly popular in the entertainment world
besides having a plethora of books and movies based in the area games seem to like the town for its craziness, mainly the drug cartels

Call of Jaurez 1 and 2
Ghost Recon 2
I think there was a C&C level based in it

I am pretty sure there are more though

Any games take place in Seattle? Or Washington for that matter? (not including sports games)

If not then no. Not even close.

Well no. It's rare that a game will be set in england int he first place, let alone a location other than London.
I do believe that a majority of splinter cell will take place in London.

OT: I used to live near DC, so I take credit for a couple game right there. I'm not to sure if there are any games that took place in Tucson.

Holy crap, a game taking place in Orlando would probably be the best game ever.

It'd take place in and around our seven theme parks, with the tourists being the main thing at stake. There's tourists from just about everywhere in the city at any given moment, so everyone has some sort of tie to the story. Of course, it'd star me as the main good guy/badass, and everyone I know as supporting characters. There'd be levels set in Fantasyland, having a Peter Pan- themed rail shooter segment, another inside Space Mountain, a battle up to the top of the lighthouse at the entrance to Universal's Islands of Adventure, another among the inner workings of one of the dark rides at Disney, and an underwater level taking place in SeaWorld. Also, there'd be a few missions along International Drive (Wikipedia it). We'd also have an excuse not to have a sewer level, since it'd have to take place inside the Florida Aquifer, and that'd just be terrible.

Yup, best game ever. And that advergame Universal made way back when for the Gamecube doesn't count.

Honestly, though, Miami always gets a visit whenever the protagonists in any game, movie, or book go to Florida, and not Orlando. I've never been able to see why, though.

You know that mission in MW2, "Wolverines!" well I have this legal documentation right here
From the Call of Duty wiki *clears throat*

"While the mission, presumably for sensitivity reasons, takes place in a non-specific area of "Northeastern Virginia," evidence in the game files and the layout of the streets, architecture of the houses, and generalized restaurants based on real restaurants suggests that this level takes place in Sterling, Virginia in Loudoun County"

Yeah. man thats my hood right there, I still hold on to the belief that a fan from my town wrote that because while the shopping center seemed familliar it was pretty generic it could've been anywhere my friend says its in Arlington who knows, but enough about my fanboyism towards that non-descript suburb I inhabit, have you ever seen a game level or a game that in its entirity is set in an area, city, town, etc. that you live in, hell I'll even take countries just so more people can respond

And I'm sorry for mentionning MW2 I know your sick of it, but my town is really really obscure especially in an international community so thats the only game I know.
Yeah everyone loves to come to Silent Hill.

There was a level or two of Resistance: Fall of Man set in Manchester. I remember there being some bawwwing on the local news because you could fight in a ruined Manchester Cathedral.

I live in New York City. Which is in every game. Ever.

I found my buddy's apartment in Spiderman 2. Oh the laughs I had.

I'm live near the Potomac River that comes off of the Chesapeake Bay. There were a few references to it in Fallout 3.
