OT: no there hasn't but it would be cool if the was some sort of Sand box crime game set in every major (or even just capitol) city in the world so people can play in their town, or jump to a friends to cause havoc ... it would be awesome and probably use images from google earth/streets/maps to generate such places.

No.
If it ever was in a game, it'd just be in passing. Like a small place to travel through to get to somewhere else more interesting and exciting. There might be a mission you could do to find some hidden treasure in the cathedral or the obelisk, probably not though.
It'd be a place in an RPG where you could buy food or clothes or useless ornaments, get drunk in one of the many pubs or sleep in one of the B&Bs.

Dead Rising takes place in Colorado, which is where I live. During a cutscene in MW2, a military base in Colorado was shown. And I made my characters in sports games like Smackdown vs. Raw and UFC Undisputed originate in Denver, which is the city I live in.



Man, Colorado doesn't show up in enough games.

Colorado!!! Can't forget about the south park games, and one of the Alien Vs. Predator movies was set in evergreen. Well we can just forget about that one anyway.

Hmm nothing has been set in Australia but if there was it would have to have a bit set in parliament house where Atkinson was taking a visit at that time. Then I can run at him and chop his head off with the AVP disk.
