This is an interesting question I have to ask. Has a game ever cheated you in some way?

I shall elaborate with my own tale.

Game: Call of Duty 4
level: One Shot, One Kill
Difficulty: Veteran

I was at the end of the level. You have to lift up Capt MacMillian and drag him to the helicopter. You slow as hell, the enemy can kill anything within 400 yards with 110% accuracy and x-ray vision. I finally get on the helicopter and Price puts down MacMillian. I cannot do anything past this point. The game has me just being to able to look so. An enemy throws a grenade right into the plane. I can;t move so I die as soo as this thing blows up and I have to start all over.

In that moment, I threw my controller and vowed never to play COD4 ever again. After the game cheated me out of the achievement for the level and for the "complete the game on veteran," I gave up.

Anyone else?

When I was a kid, I remember playing this tic tac toe game against a computer that actually stole your squares to beat you.

I can't remember where I played it or what became of it, but I'm pretty sure that machine will become the foundation for SkyNet one day

Yea, I got that on that level, thankfully I was close enough to throw it back out.
I've been cheated out of shit loads of achievements on Xbox.
GRID: Finish a race having lapped every opponent on Race Day. Done that. Where's my achievement.
Left 4 Dead: Pounce a survivor for 25 damage on the Crash Course Campaign. I pounced for 25. Where's my achievement.
Win a versus campaign of Crash Course. I've done this 5 times now. Where's my FUCKING ACHIEVEMENTS!

I find it frustrating to try to win legitimately. Most end with ring outs, usually from one of these:
Seong Mina and the combo that pops you into the air, then sends you flying.
Sigmund's move/throw where he stabs you and throws you across half the ring.

I got to the end of Warhammer: Mark of Chaos when the damn game froze. Though, calmly I quit the game and restarted it thinking I would just have to start at the beginning of that level again. BUT NO! The damn freezes at that exact moment every damn time!

At that moment....no I wasn't. I usually am a calm person, but after dying 50,000 odds times and painstakingly getting through the level like that only to have it ripped away from me by a cheap shot is more frustrating than you can bare. Not only that, but having other people do the same thing only to survive the grenade blast or having it where they could throw the grenade away was even more damaging to my ego.

I have seen some people get angry over worse things such as when they get killed by a skilled sniper out of a vehicle or when they get killed by someone using a shotgun, but then it is not like you have never gotten angry over something like that whether in a game or real life.

Very few things make me angry, just so happen that was one weak spot I had.

Let me ask you how you would feel if all of a sudden the game takes away your control of the game and executes you when you can do nothing because they game "feels" like it. No, not counting scripted events

Ironically this is coming from a person who has a Barney avatar that says "You're a douchebag."

That's not really what I am referring to. This is not by way of a glitch where the game does not recognize something. This is where the game, using its own AI script to kill you while forcibly putting you into a position where you can do NOTHING about it.

That's what I mean by "cheated."

Advance Wars 1 (GBA) - AI is able to fire into fog of war as well as engage enemies it can't in direct combat.
TES3: Morrowind (PC) - leveling up by running, thus making enemies stronger, while you stay nearly the same (except.. you can run from them a bit faster!).
CnC: Generals: Zero Hour - a bot launched a harmageddon (super-powered nukes available in some mods) missile the moment I destroyed the factory. The timer was at 10:00

Anyone ever play Silent Bomber on the PSone? I owned about 5 copies of that game & every single one ALWAYS froze after the boss fight on the lift(elevator for the americans :) ) was always pissed off with that because i really liked the game. Not sure if it counts as a game cheating but I felt cheated :(

Doesn't mean you have to go insane over it either...
Who said anything about going insane? Getting frustrated is not the same as going insane. No I didn't LITERALLY throw my controller and curse the gods for creating the game. God you people need to learn what a "hyperbole" is.

Bold for emphasis

A Hyperbole is a figure of speech in which statements are exaggerated. It may be used to evoke strong feelings or to create a strong impression, but is not meant to be taken literally.

Like I said to the other guy, you prove to me you have never gotten angry over something in your life and I will eat my hat right here and call myself a liar.

Was playing Pokemon Stadium (yeah, I know). Opponent was trashing my accuracy and upping its evade like a fiend. So, I gave up and used Swift (weak move, but ALWAYS hits. That's its thing).

It missed. This is supposed to be impossible. And it kept missing. Oddly enough, I lost the battle.
