I recently got L4D, all fun and good. However, on the mission with the boat, on advanced mode, my team had protect the house, and the boat had come. We all hastily ran to the boat, but one person was lagging behind. All of a sudden, Tank. Now you'd think the Tank would go for the lone person who has no help, correct?
Wrong.

The Tank runs on to the boat, and punches me into the sea. Turns out zombies were there, and my other team-mate had died, so I died. And lost a personal campaign after 2 hours of trying.

I raged.

I get some kind of reoccurring glitch on Oblivion- in short, enemies keep seeing me while I have invisibility cast.

The only thing that keeps me sane in these situations is the humour value involved in trying to evade perusers by running around in circles shouting "I'm invisible, you stupid bastards!"

Uncharted Drake's Fortune comes to mind. Enemies should not be skilled enough on Normal difficulty to headshot me from 50 yards away with a pistol without laser sights [strong]while I'm rolling[/strong].

Ah... I remember one of the castlevania games, they had this boss that was rather hard, once you beat them you get a game over. Apparently you were suppose to go back to the 2nd level and find an insanely well hidden magic power that was now accessable, and use it on them to win.
I had a similar experience with Final Fantasy 4. Got to the final boss and fought him for hours back when I used to play the game. Year later I wondered why I never could win, looked it up on GameFAQs and found out about a crystal item that I had never seen mentioned or referenced, that apparently made the boss not impossible. Super lame.

I have that feeling of computer cheating a lot with older games, though. Almost like the devs said, "Well, we can't make the computer smart, so let's make them cheap." Also, puzzle quest. Goddamn.

Last night: Playing No Mercy Versus on L4D. Our team goes first as survivors in the hospital map and the other team gets a tank. I'm jumping over desks, running down stairs, everything I can to avoid getting smashed by the tank in the small hallways. We kill it with a reasonable amount of damage taken. We finished with all survivors in the saferoom.

Our turn as infected. I know we'll be getting a tank, too, and get excited when I get picked. I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm.....at the top of the damn elevator?! I can't get to the survivors from there until they pass the elevator event. I end up losing control since I wasn't able to attack anyone. Next guy is just as screwed since they hadn't even started the event by the time I lost control. And for no good reason, the tank just dies while inside the shaft.

We got jipped!

In Kingdom Hearts 2 I did everything to get the 7 Orichalcums you need. The game glitched and lost track of one of them so I only have 6 and can't make the ultima keyblade.

Was playing Pokemon Stadium (yeah, I know). Opponent was trashing my accuracy and upping its evade like a fiend. So, I gave up and used Swift (weak move, but ALWAYS hits. That's its thing).

It missed. This is supposed to be impossible. And it kept missing. Oddly enough, I lost the battle.
isn't the description of swift "weak, but never misses"?

The aiming system in Counter-Strike Source 96% of the time. It decides to give you headshots every now and again, and piss weak leg shots the rest, even when aiming down a scope. This has put the kibosh on more situations than I can count.

Well. Nearly every Civilization Game has a cheating AI (for IV, they claim that it doesn't).

C&C and Dune have AI players that never run out of resources.

CS Bots had no turning speed, so if you attacked one from behind, they instantly turned around and gave you a Headshot.

But maybe the worst cheat is the typical "Enter a room and someone hits you over the head"-Scene in most 3D-Shooters.

COD4.

I was playing Team Deathmatch on Ambush, and I was running around one of the buildings in the level.
Well, another player on the enemy team was on the ledge and I saw him, but he didn't see me.

He went to jump off and so I shot him while he was falling.
You know what happened? "INSERT GAMERTAG HERE FELL TO HIS DEATH".

...-facepalm-

It has 100% Accuracy, but I don't think it's immune to Accuracy lowering effects. You'd be fine if they just increased their evade, but not if your accuracy is lowered.

That Seth guy on Street Fighter IV's last Arcade Mode stage is just a cheating *****.
I'm pretty good at the game, and sometimes he manages to beat me on the easiest difficulty.
And don't even try winning against him on max difficulty. He just keeps pounding your face into the ground.

It is not affected by accuracy and evasion modification in Generations I & II (in generation II however it would not hit if the opponent uses Dig, Fly, Protect, etc). It doesn't say whether or not it is in Generation III and beyond. So yes, whoever had it miss was cheated. I want to play Pokemon now -_-

Advance Wars 1 (GBA) - AI is able to fire into fog of war as well as engage enemies it can't in direct combat.
TES3: Morrowind (PC) - leveling up by running, thus making enemies stronger, while you stay nearly the same (except.. you can run from them a bit faster!).
CnC: Generals: Zero Hour - a bot launched a harmageddon (super-powered nukes available in some mods) missile the moment I destroyed the factory. The timer was at 10:00
Morrowind doesn't have level scaling, only Oblivion does. Point still applies really (although putting Athletics as a Major Skill is just asking for trouble) which is why there's some eleventy billion mods out there specifically to remove it.
Remembered incorrectly. I was annoyed because I was gaining levels without getting useful skills.

Command and Conquer Red Alert 3.

I really do like the game and I still play it but there's one level in the Allied campaign that just makes me want to beat the devs.

To use your "super powers" you have to be able to actually see where you're putting them down i.e. you can't just throw it into the fog of war. However, the CPU doesn't seem to face this restriction and just spams you with crap you can't guard against.
The Proton collider etc.. you can, but of course you don't know what you're hitting. And the chronosphere is a bugger, as you cannot use it unless you can see what you're aiming at. Which makes surprise attacks on a base a bugger to co-ordinate.
Hmm, doesn't seem to work with my version of the game. Oh well, you win some you lose some.

I think anyone who's played a beat-em-up will happily say one of those.

There's times when the computer goes absolutely mental, as if it said to itself "Up yours, Dave" and puts an end to your shenanigans.

I love the Castlvania games, the whole "Impossible bosses" aspects of a few of the games was just plain annoying. I also recall a part where you have to wear a specific item (Necklace) that you get in the beginning or you get a cutscene of the boss killing your friend, then a game over screen. (Well, it's a dummy, but the main evil villan "possessed" you so the emotion of seeing her die brings him out)Apparently you're suppose to wear the necklace (The stats it gives SUCKS) and by some magical force it stops you from going berzerk. The game gives you no hint to this, I had to look it up. The one in Portrait of Ruin was worse because it made you fight the boss, and they are actually pretty challanging, and I get a gameover after finally defeating them. (You can not imagine how annoying that feels after killing a hard boss.) And it also screwed up the difficulty curve for me, because I leveled a lot by running about looking for somthing that would help, making the rest of the game a breeze.

Been playing this game called "I Wanna Be The Guy." (freeware platformer tribute to the unfairly hard games of yesteryear) I'm on the Mecha Birdo boss battle (yes you read that right) and almost at least once an attempt, he plus a major bs move. After you destroy the anntenna on top of his head, his eyes start shooting fireballs in pairs, and the missile-eggs you've been hoping on become more spaced and faster moving. Occasionally, you absolutly have to double jump to land on the next egg. During this, he sometimes shoots a pair of fireballs right in the path of your jump. If you avoid them, you miss the egg and die. You can't jump any higher to get past them. If you wait to jump, you die.

The only option is try try again. I beat Mike Tyson, I can be you damnit!
