When Carlos dies in Saints Row 2 I cried. And when my dog got killed in Fable 2.
And when people can't spoiler their posts.

I haven't actually cried because of something in a game, but I've been emotional at the endings of different games, most notably Half-Life 2: Episode 2, I hate that ending.

Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. Brooklyn's death always gets me upset for some reason, and i don't know why.

I don't think I've ever cried because of a game, but I've gotten really emotional, like...
- The end of Ocarina of Time
- In GTA IV, when
your girlfriend dies, or Roman dies, depending on which route you take (I played both routes)
- Whenever I play A Link to the Past, and hear the Dark World theme (just because of nostalgia)
- when I spent an entire day failing at trying to get Halo 3 multiplayer achievements (that was less sadness and more utter rage)

I never get far enough into games for the whole emotional connection/event thingy.

The most emotional I get is feeling sad after completing a really good game. This really hit me a lot back when i was a kid, completing games like Ratchet and Clank. Firstly because i hated to say bye to the characters, and secondly because i didn't have money back then for more games!

I very nearly did at the end of Mass Effect 1, because it was just so heart-stoppingly awesome. But I didn't. Other than that, I've never even come close, which is strange because I cry all the time in movies.

Several different moments in gaming havee made me tear up but not full on cry, I think. Final fantast 13 most recent memory, the ending, and here's a list of other...

At Romans wedding, depending how you played, Kate or Roman dies, that really pissed me off to the extent that I wanted to complete the final mission with out dying!

MGS video won't work his the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGLpFgd1VkQ Tear up at the thought!
Also the entire "microwave hall" scene, your pounding "X" on the controller while shit goes to hell around you and you start screaming "SNAAAAAAAAKKKE!"

And I don't want to remember even more! DON'T MAKE ME DO IT.

Some games really made me cry, but that was because they were so bad!
More serious, no, the only emotion I ever had with games were fright and frustration.

Take my man card.

I cried at the end of Final Fantasy X but that was quite a few years ago when i was younger. I almost cried at Red Dead Redemptions ending but i did get emotional. Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2 got me almost to cry at certain points.

haha dont worry i was welling up at the end as well.

hmmm. i almost cried with anger when my legion died in ME 2. O and almost at the end of CoD 4. any games where ive actually fully cried i dont think so.

Now books on the other hand...

Nice use of spoilers, dude...

Anyway, no, but it was emotional watching... THE PART at the end of Half-Life 2: Episode 2.
Nice use of unnecessary sarcasm, dude...

Since no one has actually brought up it being spoiled for them, and the oldest of the two games is three years old, the other is two, and the only people on this forum that have any interest in those games have already played them, and I wouldn't consider it a loss to have something spoiled that I don't care about.

One of the last scenes in Okami. I'm not going to spoil it, So I'll just say it's one of the most beautiful things I have seen in gaming. SCREW Aerith and all those who cried about her death.

I *almost* cried at the ending of FFIX, though I think it had more to do with the music than the actual "Seen-that-coming-a-mile-away" ending.

(Sarcasm) I don't play games to cry. Crying is for scientists and english majors. I do manly things all day like not crying or feeling emotions.

I recently finished the FPS "The Darkness". I quite enjoyed the gameplay but the story was down right depressing. This is what id call an immersive shooter because i found myself feeling sad and helpless from certain plot points through out the game, But i finally cracked at the ending (It was probly because i had just tiny bit much to drink). I cryed, it was so fucking sad.

I will stop now and save what man-like dignity i have left.

So have you ever cryed over a videogame or has a game ever triggered some other unexpected emotion?
said same on these forums quite a while ago... Only game that made me cry; and it deserved it.

ps the comic is so much better; tugs the heartstrings, and the badassery award goes to Estacado.
Yeah the ending made me tear up a little. So did the part that caused it. Btw, where the hell is The Darkness 2?
