Let me just start by saying I don't know how to make polls. So the title says it all, has a song ever had you in tears or about to cry or breakdown? The only songs I can think of that made me cry we're No Surprises by Radiohead and Just the Two of Us by Will Smith.

Why, yes. Yesterday, in fact. If you don't know the band well, this may take a bit of an explanation: On December 28th, when Avenged Sevenfold was recording their album Nightmare, their drummer, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan was found dead in his home due to an enlarged heart and effects of long-term drug use. This was the last song he ever recorded, and it's seen as a final goodbye to all of his fans, his bandmates, and everybody that supported him. He does the drumming, and along with singer M. Shadows, vocals. Jimmy's vocals are a bit higher and not as raspy, so they're easier to recognize. But anyway, I was listening to it yesterday and it all just hit me how much the song really means, and I couldn't hold it back.

Several times, depending on my mood anything from Elton John to Nightwish to the Terry Jacks can send me into a fit of tears. And boy do I love it.

Does laughing to the point of tears count? There was this one Vocaloid song (I don't know it's name and I sadly can't find it anywhere) where the singing was so warbly and off-key that I was howling with laughter and wiping tears from my eyes.

From a "sad tear" standpoint, I'd have to go with the one piece of media to ever make me cry...

Yes. Blood Brothers by Iron Maiden. I was playing Minesweeper while listening to this song and I was overcome with the beauty of the colourful numbers.

Right before my divorce was finalized, a friend of mine sent me this song called Lullaby by The Spill Canvas. I'd felt so alone and lost, and hearing the song made me burst into tears. I listened to it for probably 2 hours straight, and cried myself to sleep with it.

Now, it makes me well up with happy tears, because it's something that always makes me think of my special guy and how tender he is with me.

The one thing about Christmas time is they always have to play this song and it's just so sad.

I saw Michale Graves perform this song acoustic live and it brought a tear to my eye. It's just so beautiful in a dark way.

This made me quite a bit weary. <3

Also if I saw this live, it would more than likely put a tear to my eye, such a beautifully crafted track, unfortunately they have broken up now, so seeing them live would be impossible.

Pete Yorn's "Lose You". Somehow it triggered long-buried memories of my mother's death, and I couldn't help myself.

I've not been able to listen to Bridge over troubled water ever since my uncle's funeral 10 years ago. My dad & I used to watch the United v Liverpool matches with him, and it was played as one of the songs during the service.
