One time when I played runescape years ago, I managed to find a ridiculously rare and valuable item. Zamorak trim rune chest plate, Everyone in runescape seemed to have a boner for zamorak themed items. That item was worth 1.2 million gold pieces. I went to world 1 in falador to sell it, but I was so excited that I didnt check the exact amount the person was offering. Turns out that fucker was actually offering 12 thousand gold instead of 1.2 million, and I accepted the trade. I was so upset.

I put it to you, sir, that the GAME did not ruin your day, but rather that one random douche ruined your day. Also, dude, get over it. Just report him for being a dickface, and move on.

I, on the other hand have had GAMES ruin my day. I saved up to purchase a copy of Kingdom Heart Fraction Adventures, and then played it. My whole WEEK sucked, due to disappointment, rage, and lack of money.

There's actually been a number of games that put me in a foul mood for one reason or another, but Fraction Adventures takes the cake, because it added on crushed hopes as well as infuriating flaws

Yea, I bought Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, got home and put it in, played half way through the first level and pulled the disk out. Money wasted, day ruined.

Heroes of Newerth and DotA2. It's fun when you just go and mess around with a joke hero and joke lineup but things get really stressful when you try to actually win games while you have a player or two in the team ruining any chance of actually winning games.

I got the game Nuclear Dawn for the Steam sale the other day, and I kept trying to get the Winter Achievement for it, but failed despite the other team's leader saying he would let us get it. It didn't help that my computer is laggy as balls.
It took me three hours, then I jumped on some server of 3 people, got the achiev, and left.
It seriously pissed me off-3 hours for a piece of coal that formed into 50% off the Hitman Collection, which I already own.

Oh god I feel ya man, and chapter 1... I knew nothing about the games story going in, expecting it to be quirky like earthbound. Didn't help I named the cast after my family. I just sorta went and lied down the rest of the day, so drained after that.

The ending for Final Fantasy XIII left me wallowing in a state of scorn, disgust, and disappointment for the remainder of the day. Does that count as "ruined"?
Yes yes it does . I actually had that happen with FFX-2 . add the massive headache and the fact i felt myself getti g dumber eveytime , yuna, pain and rikku spoke ( i liked rikku in FFX though ).
Agreed and agreed.

FFX is one of my favorite JRPGs of all time and my third favorite game in the FF series. FFX-2 is something that I try hard to forget about...but I can't. It's scar on my memory that won't go away.

The bad camera from MK Shialon Monks caused my girlfriend and I to get a bit snippy with each other. Now we only play to the next save point before doing something else.

Do you think that LotSB made up for it?
To a large degree yes.

Lair of the Shadow Broker was the best mission in Mass Effect 1 or 2 and Liara's character was really excellent throughout and by the end of it I felt like her storyline had some closure and she actually had a decent reason for not joining up with Shepard. Plus the love scene with Liara at the end of LOTSB was the most endearing and well written piece of romance in either game.

That said the premise of Liara wanting to hunt down the Shadowbroker in the first place was still very out of character. Honestly there's just no way that she'd abandon her life's work in archeology when the fate of the entire galaxy depends on people recognizing that she was right.

{Lair Of The Shadow Broker Spoilers}

Aside from that having Liara want to become the Shadow Broker was also out of character. Having her become the Shadow Broker has some story potential for Mass Effect 3; but her character was just never interested in power until Mass Effect 2 told us she was.

(End Spoilers)

While I'm not totally thrilled with the direction Bioware took Liara's character if Lair of the Shadow Broker had shipped with Mass Effect 2 (as it did with the PS3 release) then I doubt I would have been so pissed off.

Liara's dialogue and voice acting in LOTSB is stellar; but her lines in the main game were so out of character that even the voice actress who does Liara's voice said in an interview that she was mystified by the character's sudden change.

Honestly I wish that Bioware had just left Liara out of the game until they released LOTSB.

WoW will probably be mentioned a lot here.

But the standout for me, Final Fantasy XII. Not a great way to introduce me to your version of the franchise at all, Enix. Especially when I'm a fanboy of said franchise. I would still hate you if it wasn't for XIII.

Well, I got BF3 for Christmas and it's taking me a while to get used to it from BC2. And also everyone else is a higher level w/better stuff and my squadmates are usually fuffing retarded.

I usually get my day ruined by MMO's, like WoW and World of Tanks. Events in EVE Online put a damper on my day sometimes, but mostly... it's people who do it, not games.

Battlefield 2142, I sometimes encounter the kind of person who lols at being way too good to be humanly fair. One chap would follow me around the map killing me with... shock paddles. Over and over and over, bouncing around like an idiot.

He gave up when I started flying an assault craft - I love me some helicoptering. I eventually got my revenge, but it still had me in a grump all day.
