Has anyone else seen the comments section on the Escapists Webby page?

In my elitist, snarky, snooty way I have noticed how the neanderthals from Team Gamespot drool over their keyboards and roll their misshapen faces over the keys in such a manner that their twitchings forms poorly written, incoherent, and unfounded insults to my beloved Escapist as well as bowing down to Gamespot. I'll offer some examples from the page right now (Note to mods, plz no bans for anything written here, most profanity is censored but anything that is offensive is written by posters on the Webbys site, not of my own construction):

-Why would you vote for this site? How did it get in the lead? Stick w/ GAMESPOT all the way!!!!

-This site blows so much!!!! I break my monitor when i see it!

-it ***s its not nearly as good as gamespot

-Gamespot should be the one to win this. The most obvious reason is because it is AWSOME!!!!!!!

-You site is *** compared to gamespot

-I dont like the layout of the site.. dont know about user support because im not registered there and usually dont visit it. Its sad that they have to use a google custom search engine... i voted gamespot.. dont know how the guys at The Escapist roll but at gamespot thes spend alot of effort into reviewing games and presenting them - mainly because they are payed for it.

-Ripoff of Gamespot.. GAMESPOT FOR NUMBER1!!!

Of course there are dozens more but I won't go any further or my heart may give out.

Anyway, does anyone have any decent explanation for this? My only theory is that the Gamespot forums are filled with frat boys and ten year olds while we fine Escapists sip chardonnay in velvet robes, seated in plush leather chairs, as we enjoy our finest pick of games.

Well your last sentence there made everyone on the escapist sound like such foppish twats. I think your point is that we here tend to know better. This is true, dont be surprised that a lot of people dont, then again its their opinion and they are entitled to love gamespot, would you rather have all those people on here if gamespot didnt exist?

Good point. Optimally I'd rather they suck a tailpipe, but that is rather here nor there. I just wish they'd keep their filth off my beautiful Escapist carpet.

I'm not going to say Gamespot is a bad site, but it's much more impersonal than the escapist. Plus they don't have anything 'extra' like this site does. I do visit that site all the time though, but that's mainly due to the fact everytime I do a search over a particular game, Gamespot is always one of the first results on the list.

Overall, I would much rather spend my time visiting this site than wasting my time on there.

I used to post on gamespot in desperation for some communication with other gamers but since I found the escapist I haven't even gone back to the site once.

It was like swimming around in a digital septic tank of illiterate abusive text speak.

Doesn't surprise me. Those posts were probably made by the same retards who start flame wars on thier site. I say we stay above flame wars and remain a friendly site. That is one of the many reasons The Escapist is awesome and Gamespot is lame.
