The videogame club at my university hosted an event for it today, mainly because the vice president is a huge Halo Fan who played it as his first FPS back in the day. Unfortunately, I couldn't go, because it was a Wednesday and I had class. Bummer; I actually like Halo, which is hilarious, because I couldn't see the point at the time; pretty much any other FPS on the PC, and a fair few games on the console (Timesplitters, anyone?) were better, but all anyone wanted to talk about was slow, mediocre Halo. Of course, now it feels downright fast and oldschool, compared to the CoD clones[footnote]Yes, I know that the original Call of Duty predates the first Halo. The second one doesn't, though, and that's where the series really became what it is today. Halo was kind of a transitional form between 90's PC shooters and late 2000's/early 2010's console shooters.[/footnote] that it ultimately spawned...
