Has anyone even thought about Halo Anniversary?

It came out yesterday and all I see is "OMFGLOLWTFBBQ SKYRIM" threads.

I am planning on picking Halo up tomorrow and spending my weekend playing it. Has anyone else picked it up? Is it worthy of Bungie?

Well, it's probably because we pretty much know what to expect from Halo Anniversary, whereas Skyrim is still new with all sorts of surprises up its sleeve.

I'll probably wait until it goes down in price a bit before I buy it. I still have my perfectly functional copy of Halo: CE, and the relatively minor additions don't really interest me enough to run out and buy it again.

I bought it before any of the other games. So yea, I think was I was thinking about it.
I also got an RC warthog with it for a heavily reduced price that is awesome.

Yeah, thought about it. Went to look it up, didn't see a PC version, forgot about it. No longer worth my time.

I would have bought 2 copies if it had original MP. I'll probably rent it and do a few legendary speed runs to check out the new engine though.

I pre-ordered it, picked it up at midnight, set up my TV and Xbox at my cousin's house, and we played through the campaign on Legendary in two sittings, stopping only to sleep. That single run got us over half the game's gamerscore, and we did some achievement hunting afterward that netted us almost 800 gamerscore from it. We'll be finishing the rest of the achievements soon.

Halo is the first game I ever loved not just because it was fun, but because of aesthetics, story, and music (artistic worth in general, really). As such, it's incredibly important in my past as a student of game design and interactive storytelling, and I was not about to miss this. And it's incredible; the gameplay holds up (as I already knew from recent revisitations to the original), and the Reach-quality graphics just make it that much more amazing. It was great then, and it's great now.

I picked it up yesterday along with Saints Row 3 and UMvC3 (Frank West... WOOO!). I figured Saints Row would be the big standout, but I spent the whole night playing Halo. I love that game. Played it for almost 3 years straight, and a good amount of that was co-op campaign.

Even after Halo 2 came out, we still played it every now and again just because the campaign was so much fun. In a way, I never stopped playing Halo 1. The intervals between campaign runs got longer and longer over time, the last one being around 18 months, but I always had it as my go-to game when I wanted that kind of experience. So last night my co-op friend and I spent the night reliving the "good ol days" of Combat Evolved.

hey I will back you up on this because I am sick of Skyrim threads. Of course I wouldn't mind sitting down and playing some original Halo with better graphics. What pisses me off even more are the threads that don't even mention Skyrim in the title. Whats really weird about it is when people apologize for making another Skyrim thread, then they tell us to deal with it.
Now don't get me wrong,I'm not a fan of skyrim, actually didn't even bother to download it due to trying oblivion and just not getting heated up for it.But forums are for people to discuss things that interest them.

If loads of people are enjoying the same specific experience, ofc they'll like discussing things they encounter or find interesting/discussable about it and share their experiences. It's just normal, even the sheer amount of topics are understandable considering how many people got into it in a short period of time. Raging about it just desperately reminds me of that "I DON'T LIKE IT BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE LIKE IT!!" crap...

On topic,I was kinda excited about it,but after I noticed no PC version...was a bit sad.Gave it up.

Is it not a remake? Well, then there's your answer. I personally don't give a toss about either because I've grown jaded and prefer to spend my money on food at this point.

At this point, I have Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom to keep me occupied. And with Skyward Sword coming out soon, I'll have plenty to keep me busy. If I can find the game on a Black Friday deal, I'll be all over it. If not, I can hold off until the holidays.

The videogame club at my university hosted an event for it today, mainly because the vice president is a huge Halo Fan who played it as his first FPS back in the day. Unfortunately, I couldn't go, because it was a Wednesday and I had class. Bummer; I actually like Halo, which is hilarious, because I couldn't see the point at the time; pretty much any other FPS on the PC, and a fair few games on the console (Timesplitters, anyone?) were better, but all anyone wanted to talk about was slow, mediocre Halo. Of course, now it feels downright fast and oldschool, compared to the CoD clones[footnote]Yes, I know that the original Call of Duty predates the first Halo. The second one doesn't, though, and that's where the series really became what it is today. Halo was kind of a transitional form between 90's PC shooters and late 2000's/early 2010's console shooters.[/footnote] that it ultimately spawned...
